Yeah I don't see why not

G: Ah, you replied there just as I amended the previous post! :)

Fact is, as well, within Christian families it can sometimes be a collective exercise, too:

We have even talked about all getting tattoos together. When my youngest turns 18, my oldest will be 19 and I will be 49. I would definitely have a cross with scripture. Here are a few of my favorite scriptures:
James 2:13
Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope,
patient in affliction,
faithful in prayer.
Philippians 1:19
God bless,

So I guess the Red Cross should never ask you for a donation. And of coarse you would never get a transfusion in surgery ...

Deborah: It doesn't seem logical, I agree.

Anyway, the parlor trip at 18 (and older) has kind of become not too different from the mall trip to get earrings clicked in; it's a very widespread practice. While there are different thoughts about it, if there nothing specifically heretical or immoral about any practice, especially if it's done widely, and including by Christians, it's best to keep hostile comments muted, I think. (Families members soon get used to them, anyway.)

Blessings.

So have your wife's (and maybe other family members') thoughts about them developed like yours have? or does she still think that faith based tattoo designs can be of witness value?

Blessings.

Farouk,

As you know, I have changed my mind on this subject. I went from a supporter to one who is opposed to a Christian getting a tattoo.

I attribute this change of mind to my growth in Christ. The Holy Spirit used Romans 12:2 to convince me that as a Christian, I am to betransformed by the renewing of my mind. The more I grow in Christ, the more the ways of the world offend me.

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will ofGod, what is good and acceptable and perfect.†(Romans 12:2, ESV)

My wife and I take the stance that body modifications are from the world, and we no longer indulge.

Be blessed.

Well, this is just fine. I think you will find of course that, with the profusion of tattoos, there will be many Christians who regard a clear faith based tattoo design as the source of opportunities in witness.

Blessings to you guys.
