Judgment seat of Christ

I agree, but could this lead to a works based salvation?
I think it can and I think it's been a prevalent teaching in today's church.

Salvation is by faith alone, that faith should result in works based on the work of the Holy Spirit who manifests nis fruit in us.

So if our mindset is works to please God then basically we are stuffed.

But I think many a beleiver has a concept of "I must please God by my works" rather than I love Jesus and just want to be like him and that being the case that is what matters and if do not he understands and will help us.

When we focus on works then we have lost our focus on Jesus. When we lose our focus on Jesus then we have problems.
I find that mind set to be very common. They are not follow my capital rule, "No scripture, nor group of scripture, nor passage of scriptures can ever be fully understood without the light of all scripture shinning upon it." they are guilty of Rape of ther Scriptures. They have jerked the scripture(s) out of context and perverted their meaning, a very, very, common practice.

So does that mean you agree with me or are my thoughts wrong?

Revelation 20:12 "And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works."

Revelation 2:23 "And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works."

Revelation 22:12 "And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be."

And it is that simple.

It would depend, a great depend on whether or not we repent of such actions or not before we pass from this life onto the next, I believe. I do not have any citations for this but rather it is a principal I got from my studies of the Christian Bible as One Book.
Good answer. Here is the scriptural support for it:

"28And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming." (1 John 2:28 NIV)

People who don't "continue in him" will be ashamed and humiliated at his coming.

Salvation is by faith alone
Justification is by faith apart from works of righteousness.

And although works do not earn your salvation, they do in fact have to be a part of a genuine born again experience, because that's what faith looks like in a person (Luke 7:47 NASB). The great deceit in the Protestant church at this time is the belief that faith can be alone on the Day of Judgment and you will still be saved on that day. That's not what James says.

"if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save them?" (James 2:14 NASB)

Most in the Protestant church will answer, "yes!", faith with no deeds can save a person, which is in complete contradiction to what James communicates to us in the rhetorical question above. Most do not know that the faith that is alone is not the faith that justifies.

"10and find out what pleases the Lord." (Ephesians 5:10 NASB)

Probably what you are really trying to say is you should try to please the Lord for the right reason. Obviously, trying to please God in the hope you will be justified by that effort is a wrong reason. But that hardly makes it so we should not seek to please the Lord for fear of serving a works gospel.

I agree with you and that is what I said as well.
Works are as a result of genuine saving faith.

Yes and no.

We are justified because of what Jesus did on the cross and confessing him as Lord and saviour.
Repenting of our sin of unbelief.

This should produce fruit and works as a result of what Jesus has done and our hearts desire is to be what he has called us to be.

However we can still work for God in the hope that it pleases him to add to our justification.
We seek to please the Lord because of what he has already done rather than hope for something that has already been accomplished through Jesus which is justification, sanctification is as a result.

Works to earn justification without faith will not save us.
