Just a Hello From Texas

Grace and Peace:
Just thought I would drop in and say hi. Am 38, and currently am the Worship Pastor at a small country church in Texas (Plantersville, actually) and a volunteer youth Pastor at another church in Magnolia. In addition, I am a Board member on the World Ministry Coalition, so God keeps me pretty busy, but it's a good busy. Both of the churches I minister at are small (congregation of 50-60 at one, and under 200 at the other), so it's definitely a unique ministry. The Plantersville church is in a very, very poor community, and all of our staff has been volunteer for the past three years, but they are an awesome group of dedicated people. The community has huge needs, and although there is no way that we can meet them all, God has made some awesome inroads for us.
Our ministry just colaborated with several churches in the Houston area and put on a huge Christian concert at a mall (actually two nights ... we got to do a pre-party in the mall the night before the event) that benefited us building a youth center, and we had an attendance of about 2,000 and raised almost $60,00 towards it. So, a couple of praise reports, at least.
Take care everyone, and I'll see you around the forums.

As Always,
In His Eternal Service,
Rev. Don Fountain

Welcome to the forums, Pastor Don. I'm a retired grandpa living in Florida after more than half a century in cold Michigan. The older I get the colder I get. I've held every position in churches except that of pastor. I've been involved with the music ministry of churches since I was 16. It's good to see that you're busy for the Lord.

Welcome to the site. I'm glad to see God working through you, and I pray you'll bring the minister's heart to Our site.
