Where is Europe Going? The Perspective from Brussels

At first glance, Brussels is a typical European city of sidewalk cafes, charming old buildings and refined culture.
Yet outside the tourist heart of the city, there are profound political and religious changes happening to the traditional Judeo-Christian way of life in Europe.
The region has experienced a vast wave of immigration since World War II.
Belgium may have given up its prize African colonies, but uncounted thousands of immigrants from the Congo now reside in tiny Belgium, many of them illegally.
Today Europe has more than 15 million Muslims (one in ten people in neighboring France are Muslims). The public records office in Brussels reports that Mohammed is the most popular name given to boy babies during the past four years. Five per cent of Belgium's people can only speak Arabic.
The old war hero statues are boldly defaced with Islamic slogans and Muslim politicians now have enough popular mass support to be elected to local, regional and even national parliaments to begin influencing legislation in their favor.
Muslims are not the only ones setting a new agenda for Europe.
Homosexual and lesbian pressure groups openly flout their presence with banners in the streets of Brussels. Mainstream political parties are meanwhile drafting draconian hate crime legislation to fine or jail anyone who publicly speaks out against sexual perversions. A super-powerful European Court of Justice can enforce accusations of hate crime by quoting from its own so-called Human Rights legislation.
At the heart of the changing face of Europe is an institution of almost uncontrollable power and blatant corruption -- the European Union.
Introduced by treaty in 1957, the EU was proposed to the people of Europe only as a means of encouraging trade and preventing further wars.
Today, its vast bureaucratic heart is in Brussels, drafting thousands of laws that override the national governments of all its member states and infringing into every sphere of life and commerce with its own flag, currency and anthem.
Curiously, outside the huge Council of Europe building is a prominent statue of a woman riding on the back of a bull. The symbolism of the artwork is intended to be the Greek myth of Europa being carried away by Zeus, the chief god of the Greeks, in the form of a bull.
Mithraism maintained strict secrecy about its occult teachings and practices (including the woman riding the bull), revealing them only to initiates.

European politicians, led by former French President Valery Giscard d'Estang, are manipulating the acceptance of a new European constitution which rejects any acknowledgement of the Judeo-Christian heritage of the continent, while proposing a humanist and socialist 'utopia' few European citizens can begin to comprehend.
In Belgium itself, evangelical Christians are treated with suspicion, having been labeled by the government as a sect. While Catholicism is still statistically the main church, only a small minority ever actually attends a mass and the church has lost nearly half its priests over the last forty years.
In all, Belgium is one of the most spiritually impoverished nations of Europe, while being at the heart of a super state that all but defies the Word of God and the teachings of the Christian faith.
