Kiva.org: Who helps out more?

Kiva.org is a website which allows people to make investments in the lives and businesses of people living in poverty or close to poverty. I was poking around and discovered the community section of the website, and noticed there was a non-theist group (e.g., atheists, agnostics, non-religious, etc.). Immediately below this group, there was a group of Christians. Well, I quickly noticed the non-theist group had donated $681,175. The Christian group had only donated $481,750. I found it interesting the the non-theist group had donated almost $200,000 more than the Christian group.

So, my question to all here, who helps out more?

Edit: Fixed grammatical mistake in the title. Whoops!

That's easy God helps out the most, you wouldn't have fingers to type your message
if the almighty hadn't put them there.

The comparison is between atheists and Christians, not atheists and God. That is, unless you are suggesting Christians help less because they trust in God to take up the slack.

To extend the point, the cold hard data shows the non-theist team loans more money than the Christian team. They have loaned approximately $200,000 more than the Christian team. Both teams were created around the same time as well. The Christian group on August 31, 2008, and the non-theist group on August 28, 2008. What are we to conclude from this? Who helps out more?

Then, you consider that the American population is about 10% non-theist. What are we to conclude? Who helps out more?

How does this make my Christian brothers and sisters feel? We claim to have the love of God and our fellow man, but do these numbers suggest that?

You may not know this but every idle word will come out at the Judgment
Seat Of Christ. Atheists use that genre as an excuse, if you don't believe
in God you can create one made to order, Btw are you an atheist? :naughty

Apparently in this particular case, it was the atheists. But before we quickly conclude that any one group is less giving than another, we should also take into consideration the popularity of the site and to which group it is marketed more. I for one have never heard of kiva.org.

I think you're trying to pull a fast one on us. :lol

The atheist group has 4780 team members and gave $681,425.00.
The Christian group has 2227 team members and gave $482,075.00.

Now with this information, who helps more?

Sounds like math class... :gah

Good thoughts JoJo (and Merlow :thumb )

I was thinking the same thing. How can we make a judgment like that from the information from one site? I think, and I could be totally wrong, but the majority of charity organization like this are Christian based. Think of charities like Feed The Children...There are many more but I don't know the names. I know that there are many generous caring people out there, and not all of them are Christians, but I think that in the long run Christians do out give.

As for Kiva.org: The Christians helped out more. I did the math (I'm such a nerd :shrug )

Atheists gave $142.56 per person.

Christians gave $216.47 per person.

And this with giving the atheist a 3 day head start!
