Joseph deliberately hid his identity from his brothers and then revealed himself.
Jesus did not hide His identity. They just weren't listening and willing to believe Him. There are other scripture besides this one.....

It was necessary that He reveal Himself for prophecy to be fulfilled.

I'm still seeing the Jews and the gentiles in this. The Jews despise the gentiles. God shows his grace to the gentiles (Leah) while the Jews (Rachel) remain barren.

Rachel and Leah represent two covenants, Law and Grace, Isaac and Ishmael, Esau and Jacob, Hagar and Sarah, and those born of flesh and those born of spirit, firstborn and born again. Jacob deceived Esau in or to gain an inheritance as firstborn, and Rachel bargained with Leah for mandrakes, to gain an inheritance. God promised Hagar that Ishmael would become a great nation, and Leah was also fruitful.
I don't think Leah and Rachel represent Israel and the "homely" Gentiles. Gentiles are grafted into believing Israel through the cross. The Church was God's eternal purpose from the foundation of the world, but God married Israel first. So, if anything, Leah represents fleshly Israel, who has "weak eyes" and is unable to see the glory of God in the face of Jesus. She is "veiled" (II Cor 4). Only when Jacob places his seed into her, is the veil removed. Rachel gave birth to Joseph and Benjamin, types of the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow. It was not earthly Jerusalem (Leah) who gave birth to Jesus, but Jerusalem above (Rachel), the "mother of us all.
