Anything wrong with that?

Hbr 6:1 ¶ Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Hbr 6:2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.

Is Paul (or the writer of Hebrews) suggesting that the doctrine of Christ isn't good enough? That's what the writer appears to say....

No George. That is not what the writer is saying. He is suggestion that those that he was writing to stop rehashing the same issues over ane over ~~ and grow up.

How so? I would think that he would have choosen words differently..."leaving the principles" suggests well..."leaving" as in behind and moving to the next level, perfection. I can see them wanting to rehash the arguments....very easily.

No Gabby, what it is supposed to mean is that once one comes to the understanding of What the principles ARE, they go BEYOND and start PRACTICING them rather than 'reliving' their FIRST acceptance of them. You know that feeling you got when you were first saved? This is where many become STUCK. Traveling BACK to the churches EACH week in the HOPES of getting this 'feeling' back each week. What the writer is TRYING to portray is that there is MUCH more to being a Christian than simply understanding the principles. There IS the 'living' the principles. THAT IS the PERFECTION that is refered to in this scripture. The 'stepping UP' into the NEXT level BEYOND the simple understanding of the beginning.
