Dear Brother Classik, I reckon the closest thing I can think of is that the law being a ministration of death written and engraven in stones only kills (2 Cor 3:7), never gives life, and is designed to bring us to Christ that we may be saved by grace through faith. Eph 2:8-9. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
I read of the one coming to Jesus asking what he should do to have eternal life in Mat 19:16, and in Mat 19:18-19 Jesus basically tells him to keep all the law. This is much in line with Rom 2:5 against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, and Rom 2:6 says God will render to every man according to his deeds. Rom 2:7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life. Wow, this sounds great doesn’t it? Wait, this is speaking of all judgment, and goes on to say in Rom 3:10, There is none righteous, no, not one, and Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
Yep, there’s always something wrong, or lacking when following law for any reason. Hey young man, that’s great you’ve kept all the law since your youth up, but you’re lacking one thing. Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Now know that a man is not justified by the law (Gal 3:11), in Christ we are accepted in the beloved Jesus (Eph 1:6). What can we do to have God’s best? 1 Jn 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Rom 8:1 After all Paul experienced in Romans chapter seven, he came to write in Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. What law keeps us, or denies us. We are though running a race to obtain God’s best, and that will be to be in the bride of Christ. In Rev 19:7-8 we read, Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. (By law? No) And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness (Righteous acts) of saints. Paul wrote of it this way in:
2 Tim 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
2 Tim 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
