Back in the day I had an old International Travelall and we used to pile people into it, pack up an ice box with food and drinks, and go to the drive in for a great time on just a few dollars. Doing that in a regular walk in theater today would probably cost about $500. Shoot, for the 5 or 6 people we used to take at a time, just all the snacks and stuff we used to take along would probably cost close to that at the overpriced theater snack bars!

I know the prices of snacks is outlandish.

wow, pretty recent to have shown jurrasic park 3.
I didn't see where it showed what movies were last shown. It said it was sold in 2003 and demolished in 2004. That was when we were having a terrible boom in real estate prices here and developers were buying up every square inch of land they could get to cram as many houses and condos in that could possibly fit to sell for inflated prices with the promises of eternally escalating prices that would make a fortune for all those buyers when they re-sold in a few years. Now we lost most of our fun entertainment places and way too many of the people they sold those houses and condos to are bankrupt or on the verge of bankruptcy from trying to keep up with the payments on huge loans for homes that today are worth about half of what they paid for them. :angry

Yeah, and try to sneak in your own candy bar in a pocket and they go ballistic and just about throw you in jail for it. I refuse to even go to any of them anymore.

I know but there is a ton of pics of that place when it was still active. that is why liked that site. it has some of info as it says the vero one shown was built in 1955 and well the image there of that is in 1951. it was working then. the owners family gave the story of when that went into operation.
