Limits to what the blood cleanses – Part Two
This thread is, of course, is a little bit different from my previous thread on the same topic or related topics. So, not long ago, I read a blog. The blogger was writing nice stuff about Psalm 23, and making some paraphrases which really made some sense. At some points s/he would meander into certain links just for the sake of reiteration.
But, something caught my attention like it has never done before. I was so worried about it. I know we are by default born into this sinful earth: the Adamic problem. So, we need Christ to get off of the mess. The blood shed on the cross is so powerful and efficacious…that it can cleanse us from every sin. Good. Then my question, and of course my confusion: if a husband and his wife got married as true Christians…are they not altogether cleansed of the Adamic problem by the death of Christ on the cross? If the death or the blood has redeemed the couple and has made them new in Christ, then why would their progeny also need cleansing? To put it differently, does repentance not also sieve into the seed of the man to also preserve and sanctify their progenies before God? Then it means, that is, if it is not the case, that the seed of a man is shielded against the efficacy, death on the cross – or potency of the blood or death of our Savior.
