My wife says I don't listen to her and I don't know how to fix it

Is it actually that you do hear her but you don't respond to what she said ?

I don't know why that it's like it goes in one ear out the other. When I ask, "What did you say?," she is like, "You listened, so am not saying it again."

Does she have your full attention when she is speaking ? Tell her to get your attention before she speaks to you . Look at her lips when she speaks to you could help .

Have you tried active listening techniques? For example, asking a follow-up question to what she said, or repeating what she said so you demonstrate you are listening.

Will have to try that

No i do not
Start carrying one of those pocket note books in your pocket so you can take notes when wifey speaks.
It will take some self-training to pull it out when you hear her voice, but she will see you are trying to do better.
Sometimes the voices we hear the most start to blend into the background noises of life.
It takes effort to sort them from the unimportant noises.
Good luck !
