Firstly we do not need to be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
That is why the Gospel of John begins, with the beginning. ( all speaks about Jesus Christ, and is why nothing can be added or taken from the testimony of the Word.
In the beginning was the Word, The Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
In the Word was life, and the life ( in Jesus Christ.) was the light of men. The light shined in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend.
Verily Jesus said to the Jews, that unless they eat the flesh of the Son of man ( the Word is telling us what to do) and drink His blood, WE HAVE NO LIFE IN US.
Then if anyone does thirst, they come to Jesus and drink, for those who believe in Jesus, out of His belly flowed rivers of LIVING WATER
We come unto mount Sion, and UNTO THE CITY OF THE LIVING GOD, to the church of the firstborn which are written in Heaven, to God the judge of all and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the BLOOD OF SPRINKLING, that speaks better things than that of Abel. ( the blood of Abel cried unto God from the ground, the LIFE IS IN THE BLOOD, ( Genesis 4:10. Leviticus 17:11.)

Now John continues without changing anything, or adding, but speaking because the life was manifested, and the Apostles did bear witness of the Word of life, which they also handled, to then show to us that ETERNAL LIFE, which was with the Father and was then manifested unto them. ( John 14:9. Luke 24:39.)
John speaks then of what we had from the beginning, what we have heard from the beginning. ( in the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.)
Again it is a new commandment, because the darkness was past, and the true light was now shining.
Those who say thy are in the light, but hate their brother are in darkness even until now. ( the light shined in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.)
Then John continues testifying that those who can shut up their compassion from the brother that has need, how does the love of God dwell in them ?
John testifies how to love in deed and in truth, is how we know we are of the truth, to assure our hearts before God.
Next John tells us to not believe every spirit, but to try the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
Here is how we know the Spirit of God, every Spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God.
And every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, is not of God.
And this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof we have heard that it should come, and even now it is already in the world.
Remembering that John said, John 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
This is He that came by water and blood, ( Jesus Christ is come in the flesh, and unless we eat His flesh and drink His blood, we have no life in us. John 6:53.) not by water only, but by water and blood, and the Spirit bears witness because the Spirit is truth. ( to have life in us, the love of God was shed into our hearts, by the Holy Ghost, which was given unto us. Romans 5:5.) Loving in deed and in truth, to know we are of the truth, to assure our hearts before Him. 1 John 3:18-19.
And we know that we are of God, and we know that the Son of God is come ( that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.) and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him that is true, and we are in Him that is true, even in His Son Jesus Christ, this is the true God and eternal life.
Little children, keep yourselves from idols. ( from the false gods, of the many false prophet deceivers, that are come into the world, denying that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh.) Amen.
