Living with our sick ones.

How do we live with our sick ones? I know of a woman who has HIV. People kind of give her the 'wave'...and there it ends. There are other diseases. I wonder how family members should respond to this situation without offending our sick ones...or making them feel rejected.

Stigmatisation is deadly.

You treat them like they're human beings.

Love your neighbor as yourself.
.

Exactly Gary. You treat them as you would anyone else, with love and compassion... No different.

Treat them like human beings is quite the only way to do the right thing. Yet very few may truly do that. I saw a video on am Ebola patient. People fled from the patient as if the patient was a bomb that was about to detonate.

Depite the horrible condtition whatever...true love and care have a way of healing people

If I were the person with a contagious disease such as Ebola I would not want people coming in contact with me. I would feel horrible with someone else were infected. So if they stayed away I would not consider it to be offense to me as a person, just wise behavior on their part.
I've turned people away from coming inside my house when we have had the flu bug going around. I never sent my kids to school when it appeared they were sick even though they could have handled it. It was for the protection of other children.
HIV is Very different than Ebola.

You support them and love them unconditionally.Sacrifical love is the most powerful love anyone can give someone.
