Growth Lost Treasure

Have you ever lost something? I know that I have lost important things and I freak out until I find them. When the Children of Israel returned from captivity their treasure was the law. They read the book of the law like it was a lost treasure. What is your lost treasure? Is it something that you have lost or is it your service to the Lord?

Thank you that was beautiful..........Also assuming that was your voice your gender is no longer a mystery........... your profile states you are both male and female.........with everything in the news and your name it one could not help but wonder<<<< that was an attempt to be humorous <<<<<<< maybe a failed attempt.

thanks

I am very dyslexic. I didn't see that you have to declare your gender twice. My mistake.

It was a poor attempt at humor ......... I read profiles to get to know and understand others. I like this post.
thanks
No it was no poor attempt at humor. It was just a mistake. Really, I didn't see that I had to put the gender in twice. I do that all the time because if my dyslexia. I get numbers and letters turned around and I can look at something three or four times and not see it until someone points it out to me.

my post was the poor attempt of humor.......... I can relate to that .I rearrange numbers a lot
thanks again for the post

When the Children of Israel returned from captivity their treasure was the law. They read the book of the law like it was a lost treasure.

Actually, the scriptures became their treasure during the Babylonian captivity. Previous to the exile, their "treasure" was the temple in Jerusalem which Solomon had built. When the temple was destroyed and they were taken from their land, their only physical connection to the God of Israel was the scriptures. (Torah, psalms, wisdom, history, early prophets)

It was during this period that scribes (experts in the Law) rose to religious prominence and the synagogues became the centers of Jewish worship. That development continues up to today, the scribes having been replaced by rabbis.
