No TV section, so I figure I'd put it here.

Anyone watch this show? I absolutely love it---by far the best thing on TV right now. Great finely crafted mystery along with absolutely superb character development via flashbacks. If you haven't had a chance to see it, definitely catch it during the summer when reruns air.

If anyone watched last week, what are your thoughts on the transmission that Boone heard? Did the voice say "There are no suvivors of Oceanic Flight 815" or "No, we are the suvivors of Oceanic Flight 815"?

I saw one episode because my sister in law is addicted to the show and she was at our house. I gotta admit that I liked it. It was the one where the brother was constantly protecting his sister. I thought it was a nice mixture of the weird and the deeper human condition.

Unfortunately, I am bad at regularly watching TV shows so I have missed every episode since.

I started out watching every episode. But each week I was disappointed. The first week had a giant dinosaur thing - then the polar bears came. I thought it would be like some kind of sci-fi X-files thing. I guess it was just going too slow for me. Like the producers found out it was popular so they slowed the plot way down to make more money.

Hmmm. I must have missed that part.

The problem with this show is that there is so much mystery wrapped up in mystery that the expectation builds and builds. In other words, the potential for serious 'let down' is possible. It gets so hyped up in people's minds that when all is revealed it might be like "WHAT?? THAT'S IT???"

As far as characters go, I like Sawyer, Sayeed and the fat guy (I can't remember his name off hand). I thought Sawyer was kind of a slimeball before, but now I like him. It's his 'jerk'iness that makes him likeable. They need to expound on Sayeed's story more. He is the coolest. Did you know that the actor is actually British?

So what are the theories?

Based on the structure that Boone and Locke found and Locke's strange attraction to thinking that the 'island' is in charge of the events, it looks more and more like Stephen King's 'Tommyknockers' where an alien spaceship is controlling everything.

My question is, how does that account for the way all these people's fates are tied into each other before the crash and the numbers that the heavy 'dude' won the lottery with? And what's with the 'black rock' and the French woman's directions? Or the polar bear?

AND WHAT IS WITH THE ENORMOUS 'UNSEEN' MONSTER CRASHING THROUGH THE BUSHES?? WHERE HAS HE BEEN?? WHAT IS IT???

If this is going to be renewed for another season, does that mean that the secret is not going to be revealed this year? If it is revealed, what could they possibly have to deal with in the next season?
 
JJ ABRAMS made this exelent show. Any show he makes he has at least 5 seasons written. Alias is one of his better shows (although right now Alias sucks compared to previous seasons)

Lost is kewl, but Alias, IMO is much better!

i thought that boone only saw that because of the stuff the old guy gave him?
i may be wrong but i still want to see more of the polar bear!!!!!!!!

The 'crashing beast' existed before the 'drug hallucination' bit on Boone. I find it strange that it just seemed to be forgotten and not talked about by the survivors except once or twice in passing.

If I'm not mistaken, the polar bear was killed in the first few episodes. Where did it come from and how does it fit in?

Rumor has it that one of the main characters we've been following dies by the end of the season. At the moment it looks like Boone but I bet it is the Korean guy.

And who was Ethan who captured Claire and Charlie?

i think that the radio said " no we're the survivors... "
but i cant wait to see it wednesday night !!
and i cant believe boone died hewas one of my favorites.
