I saw that video earlier today! Some people are saying that it must be fake because an eagle couldn't really lift something that heavy.... I live around eagles, believe me, they can.

I'm so glad the eagle dropped the baby before it got any higher and glad that baby is OK.

This Eagle must have seen LotR...

lol! Maybe it thought the daddy was an Orc.

Yup, Eagles can carry quite a load, such as snatching billy goats off the edge of a mountain.

I'm not allowed to swear but .................. , that's terrifying.

Eagles are like honey badgers - not afraid of anything. I got attacked by a bird of prey/eagle(?) once whilst flying a glider - many, many times his size. Fortunately my canopy stayed intact but they have been known to shatter perspex canopies. If I meet an eagle in flight now, I just dive away and leave his territory as quickly as I can.

Opps! Just found out that the video of the eagle is a hoax... just can't believe anything anymore...

It could happen though... I watched as a bald eagle (which are smaller than golden eagles) carried a marmot off and marmots aren't exactly tiny little things.

This has actually been a popular myth in Norway. Shore Eagles stealing toddlers. I guess it has just been validated.
