Are love notes a thing of the past? I mean with the instant relationships we have today, the pre-dating note passing would seem to be history. I'm just curious as to what the rest of you all think.

I would say that it is a thing of the past. Although I have no first-hand experience. I've never dated anybody.

Oh, I seriously doubt that love notes are a thing of the past. Go to any middle school and I'm sure you'll find more love notes than you could ever possibly know what to do with. Of course, I suppose that the older you get, the more rare they become. Although, I must say, I think that they could be kinda fun - then again, I am a rather hopeless romantic and would enjoy that kind of thing. I am in the same boat as Gendou, though. Never dated; the closest thing to love notes that I've ever sent was candy grams on Valentine's Day, and I have to admit that I've never recieved a love note either.

Well, from personal experience, I used to get them when I dated a gal in my Freshman year of HS. However, they weren't too sappy.
CLY, I'm an HR as well. For this particular gal, I bought 6 purple roses(her favorite color) and placed them on her door a few hours before she was planning to come home from a vacation. Her parents thought I was too slick for a 15 year old. 8-)

My husband and I wrote love letters on a pretty regular basis. Now that he is gone, his are one of many treasures that I have to remind me of him. I will be happy to have my children read them when they are older and can see how much we loved each other. In our family, they are not a thing of the past. The Lord bless.
