Bible Study Luke 1:64-66

Luke 1:64-66
KJV(i) 64 And his mouth was opened immediately, and his tongue loosed, and he spake, and praised God. 65 And fear came on all that dwelt round about them: and all these sayings were noised abroad throughout all the hill country of Judaea. 66 And all they that heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, What manner of child shall this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
Luke 1:64-66Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God. 65 Fear came on all those who lived around them, and all these things were being talked about throughout the hill country of Judea. 66 All who heard about him took it to heart, saying, “What then will this child become?” For, indeed, the Lord’s hand was with him.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

64 The most important thing that can every come out of our mouth is praises to God. He committed to what God had said and because of his faith in what God had said he now again could speak.

65 I am sure he told them of the story of the angel now that he could speak and the proof in the story was that he could now speak. There is nothing that can spread better than the word of God. It is more likely for evil words to spread but the word of God needs to be spread because it is the only knew that can give life.

66 They accepted the story about the angel, the truth, and knew that God had great plans for John to serve the Lord and wondered what they were. When we accept the Truth God has great plan for us to serve Him as well.

When he wrote the name 'John,' in confirmation of his wife Elizabeth's statement of their son's name, his voice returned. He knew of our Lord's faithfulness to us; like a new & excited Christian, he couldn't say enough about our Lord's blessings.

Those around him and in areas all around, the news of Elizabeth's late-age for motherhood and her husband's returned gift of speech, all were astounded and awed by what had occurred. It's only natural for so many to wonder what amazing future faced the baby John. Talk about a marvelous means to bring others to our Lord!

This is such a record of joy and grace, with much encouragement to each of us. Even though his final day wasn't exactly the best he had ever had, John did indeed live a marvelous and special life.
