Luke 23:32-46
New King James Version (NKJV)
32 There were also two others, criminals, led with Him to be put to death. 33 And when they had come to the place called Calvary, there they crucified Him, and the criminals, one on the right hand and the other on the left. 34 Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.â€[a]
And they divided His garments and cast lots. 35 And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.â€
36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.â€
38 And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew:[b]
THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ,[c] save Yourself and us.â€
40 But the other, answering, rebuked him, saying, “Do you not even fear God, seeing you are under the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly, for we receive the due reward of our deeds; but this Man has done nothing wrong.†42 Then he said to Jesus, “Lord,[d] remember me when You come into Your kingdom.â€
43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.â€
Jesus Dies on the Cross
44 Now it was[e] about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. 45 Then the sun was darkened,[f] and the veil of the temple was torn in two. 46 And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, “Father, ‘into Your hands I commit My spirit.’â€[g] Having said this, He breathed His last

32 Jesus who is not guilty is put to death with those who are.
33 He was put in the middle between the two criminals. we are told from the other gospels that it was a hill. It being a hill all who wanted could see the punishment going on. It was a sign not to break the law for those not just for those on the cross but for everyone.
34 This was said for all sinner every where at all times. Before we learn what we do is wrong we don't know what we do.
35 They wanted Him to prove Himself once again but God plan is different then ours at times.
36-37 They started to mock Him because He did not save Himself.
38 The punishment was to be put on here. Jesus is more than just king of Jews, He is the Almighty.
39 This man looked out for himself he needed Jesus to show him who He was by acting against the Romans by getting down. If Jesus would have got down not only would all be doomed it may have started a war with Rome.
40-42 The ther man knew he was getting his just punishment but also knew Jesus was not recieving justice. He believed in Christ.
43 Because of the man's faith he recieved grace. We recieve grace because we have faith and we all deserve death on a cross for ours sins but Jesus took our place.
44 Darkness came at 12 to 3pm.
45 The veil was torn because the Lamb was now sacrificed. There was no seperation between those who recieve the Lamb and God.
46 He died and went to the Father.
