Luke 4:20-21 King James Version (KJV)
20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.
21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.
Luke 4:20-21 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
20 He then rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. And the eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on Him. 21 He began by saying to them, “Today as you listen, this Scripture has been fulfilled.”

20 This was commonly done reading scripture, a person would be picked to do this for each service and they would sometimes be advised to read a certain passage or choose one, it is important to note that they did not have verse numbers but Jesus knowing scripture because He is the Word went right to where it was that He needed to read. They had there eyes on Him because they were paying attention, He would use their attention to teach we often times will have trouble teaching people when we do not have their attention.
21 Jesus Himself fulfilled this scripture, teaching this at this time was something that would cause big problems within the sects because He was not of them, Jesus was not of man but for man Jesus was God who came as man for man from God.
