Bible Study Luke 4:38-39

Luke 4:38-39 King James Version (KJV)
38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon's house. And Simon's wife's mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
39 And he stood over her, and rebuked the fever; and it left her: and immediately she arose and ministered unto them.

Healings at Capernaum

38 After He left the synagogue, He entered Simon’s house. Simon’s mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Him about her. 39 So He stood over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up immediately and began to serve them.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

38 This shows that Peter was married because he had a mother in law which would have been his wife’s mother. They wanted to see if Jesus could do something with her to make her better. Fevers can cause brain damage if it gets high enough and lasts long enough. The see a problem and they go to Him, we are first to go to Him with our problems.

39 Jesus caused the fever to leave her simply by speaking against, telling it to leave her, this again shows His power, not that of a man but God. She began to serve right after she was healed. We are to serve if we able.

Good morning Brother Clark. I'll just mention that according to :
Mat 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

Php 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
Php 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men.

Joh 8:28 Then said Jesus unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he, and that I do nothing of myself; but as my Father hath taught me, I speak these things.
Joh 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.

(Joh 14:8) Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
(Joh 14:9) Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thouthen,Shew us the Father?
(Joh 10:30)I andmyFather are one.
