Bible Study Luke 5:17-19

Luke 5:17-19
KJV17And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.18And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.19And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

Luke 5:17-19 Revised Standard Version (RSV)
Jesus Heals a Paralytic
17 On one of those days, as he was teaching, there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was with him to heal.18 And behold, men were bringing on a bed a man who was paralyzed, and they sought to bring him in and lay him before Jesus;19 but finding no way to bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and let him down with his bed through the tiles into the midst before Jesus.

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

17 Teachers were coming to hear Him teach. People were coming to be healed. His fame was becoming known and the Holy Land. By us receiving His teachings as Truth and accepting Him He heals us of the thing we need healed of most sin.

18 This man had to trust in these men to be brought to Jesus. Others often times as brought by others to Jesus are we willing to bring them to Him. We need to have a desire to want to be in the present of Jesus and go to Him when we have need but we should allow help bring others to Him.

19 They did whatever they needed to do to make sure they got him to Jesus do we stop when challenge comes or do we do all we can do to get them to Jesus?

Why did you quote two different bibles and why did you quote copyrights for the RSV ?

Do the two different versions mean something different to you?
Are we not allowed to quote bibles here? I've been doing it for 3 weeks now. (Ah. but I never mention which bible...)

And my comment would be this:
The paralytic's friends knew he WANTED to get well. He'd been sick a long time and wanted to be able to walk.

Not everyone WANTS to know God. You can witness all you want to - if the person has a closed mind you'll get nowhere. And you must stop at some point because otherwise you do more harm than good.

This is how I understand it. If the person is resisting witnessing, go slow. I like to say that one person plants the seed, another will water it, another may see it grow. We each have a little part to do.

If the person WANTS to know God, then I think we should do whatever it takes - just like the paralytic's friends did.

Wondering
