Jesus gives a analogy in Luke chapter 16. The Richman and Lazarus. When Lazarus died, angels brought him to bosom of abraham, in paradise. But the Richman also died, and was in hell. Theirs a Gulf that separates paradise and hell. Neither side can cross over. Question is, why did Richman end up in hell?? Psalm chapter 49 speaks of rich people who put their trust in wealth and not God. Could this be the answer?. Proverbs, pride goes before destruction. Can this also be another answer? Matthew chapter 18, Jesus says we must be as children to enter kingdom of God. First Peter 1:8. And a stone of stumbling, and a Rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient; God looks at your spiritual condition. Could studying under church who teach tradition of men and false doctrine pollute your spiritual condition. Does God approve of those who mix heathen traditions with true worship of God? Epistle John tells us not to receive anyone in your house who brings different doctrine and not to BID them God speed. Is traditions of men a stumbling block, and another answer to why someone ends up in sheol, called hell??
