Just wondering what people think about these mainstream rockers who have 'found the Lord'.
For instance,
1) Drummer Nikko McBrain of Iron Maiden became a Christian a few years ago
2) Guitarist and founding member from Korn (can't remember his name off hand) left the band due to conversion
3) Though not sure how true this is, I have heard that Dave Mustaine from Megadeth and even Alice Cooper had gone the way of the Christian experience.
Even though my first reaction is: "PRAISE THE LORD!", Part of me asks the question:
How sincere do you think they are or do they understand the walk of a Christian?
For instance, one interview with Nikko McBrain seemed to justify the rock and roll lifestyle that surrounds one in that environment as 'Well, I'm a sinner'. In other words, if I fall and do the things that I used to do because that is what I'm surrounded with everyday, it is because I'm a frail human'.
That almost sounds like justifying sin to me. I could be wrong. Maybe I misunderstood the context of McBrain's statement.
