Mass Effect 2

Mass Effect 2 hits tonight at midnight. I played the first one two years ago and loved it. Any other forumites picking this one up? Probably one of my top 2 or 3 most anticipated games for the year.

Doesn't look like we have many ME2 fans out there but I figured I would post my first impressions anyway since I am at work and bored.

The game is nothing short of fantastic! One of the most cinematic experiences I have had in a game. The graphics are beautiful with many fixes and updates compared to ME1. The story is extremely deep and the choices you made in the first game impacts the story line in ME2.

I am about 12 hours in and loving it so far! Great game!

What style of game is it?

I wouldn't really know what to call it.


Its kind of like an RPG, there is a lot of dialoge moments where you choose what your player says and do.

Its also kind of a 3rd person shooter.

Its really not much of an action packed game, in my opinion. I heard the story line is great though.

The commercials look amazing. I've been thinking of getting it. I love games with interesting, immersive plots.

This game keep getting better and better. I am 29 hours in and getting ready to hit the finale that we have been building up to. Probably one of my top 5 games of all time at this point.

LOVED IT. Played several runs through.

And it isn't hard at all to describe the game. It is a hybrid of a shooter and an RPG. A good way to think of the setting is a cross between Star Wars and Star Trek. See? Easy. :3
