Math game...

You have a box containing 10 apples and you have 10 CF friends. You give each friend an apple and there is still one apple left in the box.
How ?

One person has two user names and counts as two friends, but only gets one apple.

You gave nine apples to nine of your friends and the 10th apple was still in the box when it was given to your 10th friend but unbeknownst to them there was also a Brazilian Pit Viper in the box as well. When your 10th CF friend reached into the box, the viper stuck but missed, injecting its venom into the apple instead.

Your 10th friend arrived home from work and took the elevator to their apartment. During the elevator ride your friend was asked by a very short man to press the button for the 10th floor. Your friend, also of very short stature, could not quite reach that high so they took the viper and, after placing the apple in its mouth, used it (because it wasn't raining) while standing on the box to press the button.

The elevator came to stop at the 4th floor and three Girl Scouts got on. The first thing they did was to press every button for every floor. The 3 Girl Scouts huddled in the back of the lift and began to giggle. Annoyed, your friend showed the Brazilian Pit Viper (with the apple in its mouth) to the Girl Scouts and two of them were so scared they got off on the 5th floor, ashen faced, as soon as the door opened. They both tried to encourage their third friend to exit as well and even though the three of them were all born on the same day and of the same parents and even though they were all Girl Scouts and each of them loved spinach, they were not related to each other.

The two departed Girl Scouts finished their trip home via the stairs and upon entering sat down to a game of Russian Roulette while they counted amoebas and ate Binyawanyawanyian Clams.

Good thing you didn't make applesauce, right?

HINT: Look at the faded numbers beneath the eye glasses at the bottom for the next three in sequence.
 
Ok ok. If I take 5 jelly beans from a packet of 50 how many do I have ?

Bag A contains two white marbles
Bag B contains one white marble and one black marble
Bag C contains two black marbles

You close your eyes and pick a bag at random and then, with your eyes still closed, take out a marble. It turns out to be white. What are the chances that the other marble in the bag is also white?

According to my understanding, you both got it right. The site I saw that on said there was a 2/3 chance of it being white, based on the number of possibilities of which marble (as opposed with bag) you chose, like so...

You chose the first marbe in bag A (second is white)
You chose the second marble in bag A (first is white)
You chose the white marble in bag B (other one is black)

They explained why it wasn't 50% by saying you were picking marbles, not bags, but the puzzle specifically says that you picked a bag.

Here's another one from the same site.

Three men are on safari and are ambushed by cannibals. The cannibals take them to their village and tie them to stakes, one behind the other, according to height. The shortes man is in back and he can see both men in front of him. The man in the middle can see only the man in front of him, but not the man behind him. The tallest man is in front and can't see either of the others. The cannibals then give them one chance to escape alive. The men are shown 5 hats, 2 of which are white and 3 of which are black. They are then blindfolded and a hat put on each. The extra two hats are hidden where none of the men can see them, then their blindfolds are removed. If one of them can say with absolute certainty what color his own hat is, they can all go free, otherwise they will all be eaten.

The man in back, who can see two hats, is asked what color his is and he answers "I don't know".
The second man, who can see only one hat, says "I don't know".
The tallest man, who can't see any hat, says "I know what color mine is".

What color was his hat and how did he know?

The front two hats can't be white, because then the 3rd man would know his hat was black. At least one of the two hats in front of the third man must be black. He says he doesn't know to convey this data to those in front of him.

If the middle man can see that the hat in front of him is white, he would know that he had a black hat on. He says that he does not know his hat color to tell the man in front that the man in front has on a black hat.

That's right. Now if you can figure out my exact address, you can come over an pick up your prize, which is a black hat.
