I think that the two different passages are not related to each other. Do you think they are, or are you just curious about each separately?
Each separately. Do you want to know what I think about them first?
You are a young man of much wisdom, Josh.As for Matthew 11:14, if you compare it to what Jesus says in Matthew 17:11-12 he said that "Elijah is coming" (vs. 11) and yet in the next verse "Elijah already came" (vs. 12) which I take to mean that the first reference refers to the actual Elijah, who is yet coming, but that John "already came" in the spirit of Elijah to prepare the way for the Messiah (but not in the way that the people expected - just as Jesus was not the type of "Messiah" that they had expected).
As for Matthew 11:25-27 I'm not sure exactly what you are wondering about there, but I remember the last time I read that passage in Matthew 11 I took special note of it because it is one of the only times we see Jesus rejoicing and praising God, and he rejoices in part over a matter of judgment for having "hidden these things". This also struck me when I saw that angels also praise God for His judgement on men: "And I heard the angel of the waters saying, 'Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things; for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. They deserve it" (Revelation 16:5-6). I found it interesting, though a bit shocking at first, that Jesus and Angels should delight in God judging wicked men and those who think themselves wise, but it reveals all the more the righteousness of God and how we should delight in all of God's judgments.

Haha, thanks! I actually got sick of seeing my large forehead and the yellow wall behind me in the avatar picture everytime that I posted. I got sick of looking at myself! I like the pose with the Toby Mac style hat much better. :DPizzaguy said:(Special note: Much better avatar!)

Jesus rejoicing over God hiding something???). This also struck me as peculiar when I saw that angels also praise God for His judgment on men: "And I heard the angel of the waters saying, 'Righteous are You, who are and who were, O Holy One, because You judged these things; for they poured out the blood of saints and prophets, and You have given them blood to drink. Elijah here: I think that you have that below right as far as you go. But remember that John had converts outside of the organized church, and with Christ's Blessing from God Jehovah on Him, John also had the blessing of God on his [departure]! at the baptism of His then anointed Son, John also was doing the correct work of starting up an extended church which was turned Lovingly over to the 'Rock' of the New Church, Christ.
I agree. John the Baptist had a very important work and mission from God. Surely it is true that John was the greatest man yet to have been born at that time, "Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he" (Matthew 11:11).
God Bless,

Sure. Lets hear your thoughts on the passages.
Isa 40:1 Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
Isa 40:2 Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins.
Isa 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
Isa 40:4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
Isa 40:5 And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see [it] together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken [it].
Isa 40:6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh [is] grass, and all the goodliness thereof [is] as the flower of the field:
Isa 40:7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people [is] grass.
Isa 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Isa 40:9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift [it] up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
Isa 40:10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong [hand], and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward [is] with him, and his work before him.
Isa 40:11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry [them] in his bosom, [and] shall gently lead those that are with young.
Very true, but those ones are not on earth, huh!;) And we hear a lot about Love today, and we should. Yet, here was Christ's heaping spiritual praise on one who surely was beheaded by his 'point blank' speaking! Perhaps we might take inventory of what Agape Love is all about?? Rev. 3:16-17
