Basically, anytime a posts number is incorrect, the incorrect number is ignored and both teams should respond to the last correct number.
EXAMPLE #1:
Male: 550
Female: 551
Male: 549 (Incorrect post, so reply as if the male never posted)
Female: 552 / Male: 550
EXAMPLE #2:
Male: 550
Female: 551
Female: 552
Female: 552 (Incorrect post, so reply as if the female never posted)
Female: 553 / Male: 551
So basically an incorrect post results in a wasted post, and post as if the incorrect post never happened.
A clear example can be made of posts 81-84 on page 6 of this thread. Jman posted 547, which you replied to as 549. He could have then replied with 546 because he was not the last poster and you posted an incorrect number. However, since he did not post a correct number either, 547 was still the last correct number, making the right post 546 by myself.
Reba, your post would have been 542 because technically Tina's post on this page was out of order due to the fact that no extra point should be added in response to a double post of 530 page three, meaning the next correct number was still 529. However, in the spirit of fair competion and lack of clarity on the rulings, your post will count as 544. (I know this all seems so technical, but these things keep teams honest enough not to count by twos occasionally. Since this is meant to be a fun game, we can ignore uncaught errors if the game has continued several posts. In the end, a few incorrect posts won't make a difference, but its also fun to catch an error and basically pick up an extra point, or keep the other team from getting the free points.)
