LISTEN PLEASE


Won’t you listen please?
Listen; can’t you hear?
If you would only listen
God’s voice is very near!

Won’t you listen please?
God is gently calling you
He keeps calling and calling
Can’t you hear that voice so true?

Won’t you listen please?
The sound is so sweet
If you try you will hear it
In God’s people that you meet.

Won’t you listen please?
You can hear Him in the winds
You can hear Him in the birds that sing
And in those blessings He sends.

Won’t you listen please?
For He is everywhere you know
If you try you will hear Him
And in your life it will show

WHAT IF?

What if Adam had not eaten the apple to sin
What if Daniel had not been in the lions den
What if Moses had not written the Commandments Ten
What if Baby Jesus had not been born to Mary the virgin
What if Noah had not built the ark to sail
What if Jonah had not been swallowed by the whale
What if Sarah had not a story of age to tell
What if Abraham had not obeyed God's yell
What if Jesus God's Son had not been placed on a tree
What if the Bible was not the word of God for you and me
What if there were no more world for us to see
What if your life were no more, where would you spend eternity
What if God had not planned for us a Heaven
What if Jesus had not provided commandment eleven
What if we could not be forgiven seventy times seven
What if this message could not been brought to leaven
What if...........?

YESTERDAY, TOMORROW, TODAY

Yesterday is past for me
Tomorrow I may never see
Today is my reality

I cannot relive my past
Tomorrow approaching fast
Today will never last

Memories to recall
Dreams large or visions small
Challenges as they befall

To thank God for what I had
If no tomorrows to make me glad
Today I'll honor and not be sad

LIVING

To angels God had shown control
Creating life a living soul
No doubt for angels’ eyes to see
Animals were made to be
Then came a time upon this earth
Man in God's image and His worth
Not yet a living, breathing soul
It was not time to play his role
Just read first verse of chapter one
A hidden meaning had begun
Those in God’s image understood
All things made were right and good
None created were none in need
Food given from trees with seed
Animals and fowl on earth
God in awesome and joyous mirth
All was done in six of God’s days
Creation a completed phase
Yet man was not a living soul
Scripture shows God in control
God gathers dust from the ground
A living soul in man soon found
God’s breath in man’s nostrils that day
A living soul formed from the clay

THE DAY OF WRATH

When will the day of wrath take place
Prediction from God's word we face
No man knows the hour or day
The time of wrath is on the way
There are warnings for me and you
Found in His Holy Word so true
If you should give to God your heart
He would guide you and not depart
As you walk down that narrow path
Thus to keep you from His wrath

WHY?

An unborn child soon to be aborted
Its mother's wisdom had been distorted
Why?
Children of the dad dying with cancer
His death now in time is not the answer
Why?
Parents of the soldier killed in action
War became a known dissatisfaction
Why?
The small child loses his special house pet
Perhaps taking a life time to forget
Why?
The auto accident caused much pain
Unnecessary stress for one to gain
Why?
Your loved one will not believe in God's Son
His promise eternal life for each one
Why?
Creation or evolution will be
Topic of discussion for you and me
Why?
Deceit or lies came known from a friend
Sadly the friendship now comes to its end
Why?
To look at the stars in the sky above
Or hear the soft coos of a turtledove
Why?
To give your heart and love to someone new
Memories of happiness long overdue
Why?
Assurance of peace upon a new earth
Resurrected bodies each a new birth
Why?
Now comes the question I must ask of you
Is the answer found in the Book so true
Why?

The World’s First Parents

The world’s first set of parents
Their names were Adam and Eve
Owners of a paradise
Until a serpent deceived

The world’s first set of parents
The parents of us all
Listened to the serpent
To become man’s downfall

The world’s first set of parents
A gift of eternal life
Because of willful sins
An introduction to strife

The world’s first set of parents
The creator had a plan
Life would be forever
Until the fall of man

The world’s first set of parents
Caused God to change His mind
Sending another Adam
Forgiveness for man kind

VETERANS AT PEACE
There is coming a day
When peace will be the way
No fighting on command
No need for war on land
All love with harmony
No more soldier's army
No fighting to endure
All nations feel secure
God in full control
Of man's heart and soul
Veterans from the past
For peace to come at last

COULD I KNOW

Could I know how Jesus felt
When He was nailed to that tree
He paid the price on that day
To give peace and set me free

Could I know how Jesus felt
When He was betrayed by some
He shouted out in agony
Forgive them for what they’ve done

Could I know how Jesus felt
While He took His last breath
He died to give a promise
For eternal life not death

Could I know how Jesus felt
The day He died for you and me
What joyous peace and comfort
Awaits God’s children to see
