I'm like an excited school girl! I just saw a Lyrids meteor. It was totally by chance; I just happened to be outside just now. In relative terms, the streak seemed to be about 10 full moons long in width (if that makes sense). Very cool!
 
Cool indeed. I love watching meteor showers. Each August (weather permitting) we drag our sleeping bags and chaise lounges out onto the back porch to watch the Perseid meteor shower.

I'm glad you were in the right place at the right time. One of God's little blessings!
 
It's so true. I felt totally blessed to see it! I've seen falling stars or whatever, but this was a much longer streak than I'd ever seen before.
 
I seen the meteorite that touched down in Alberta and i live in Nova scotia. :-)
 
If I have my timeline right, the most active period will be the hours surrounding 12 hours from now. I'm going to sit outside tonight!
