mid-terms

I survived with Mountain Dew. :) My degree is in Christianity, so some of the answer were kinda subjective, so as long as I was hitting the right ideas I was fine in most cases. Plus my professors all understood that I came at theology in a different way than most of the other students. I can't offer too much advice other than find which way you study best and do it as much as you can without burning out. :)

Hey Julie, is this your first year?

When I'm studying I have to make sure I take regular stretch breaks, and I also drink plenty of hot tea. Too much reading makes my eyes super blurry, so stretch breaks and short walks help alot with that.

sadly, no, it's not my first year. it's my second, but it's also a lot more stressful than the first, naturally! Thanks for the advice :)

Hey Julie!

My advice for you is whenever you come in for tests, try to review it daily at least 30 minutes. if you cramming for the test, study in 2 hour intervals and take a short break like 10-15 minutes and make sure you eat something so your body has the energy for you to continue.

The best advice I can give you is to make sure you get a GOOD night's sleep the night before an exam. I know it's tempting to cram until 2am, but if you approach the exam with the clear head 8 hours of sleep gives you, it will make a huge difference. Other than that be sure to follow the other advice people have posted: eat well, drink water, naps, and taking short walks. I can tell you from my psychology classes you are better studying in repeated sessions with a break in between than cramming nonstop. Good Luck!

Cram until 2 am....but don't cram until 2 am the night before your exam :P Before an exam I always get 6-7 hours of sleep. Working out helps, too. Makes you at least feel better. At least it does me, until I realized I wasted study time XD

And I'm a chemistry major, so I know your thick load...Do what works for you to study. There comes a point where you can't think clearly because you've studied so long? Stop studying and take a ten minute rest. And if you really need to cram...use caffeine. I've had to pull near-all-nighters before.

Bottom line: Get your work done no matter the means. I know people are saying stretch, nap, eat healthy, etc. It's all great advice. Do it if you can. But if you're running short on time and it can't work for you, then find something that does work for you. And if you like to eat unhealthy foods while you study, go for it! I used to be the type that tried everything that was suggested. I then got to the point where I had a large enough load of work (like now I have two horrendous weeks left then finals. Horrendous meaning at least 5 projects (one in each class) going on now plus a couple finals on the last day of class instead of during finals week >_> (and there's a reason I'm not on this forum all that much at the moment, I had my senior project and a freakish amount of work lately, so you won't see me until I graduate most likely in a few weeks :D)) that I just didn't care how I finished it.
