The author of the piece is unaware that every new mutation adds information to a population. He or she has no idea what "information" is, or how it is calculated in a genome. There once was a benefit to suppressing the lactose gene in adults. That advantage is now gone, so restoring that damaged gene is useful in dairying cultures. Ironically, AIG is convinced the damaged gene is the normal one, and the restored lactose gene is "damage."
