I am trying to correlate Revelations 20 with the rest of scripture. The only other reference that I can really find in regards to anything that remotely resembles a Millenium is out of Isaiah.
Isa 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:
Isa 11:2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;
Isa 11:3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
Isa 11:4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
Isa 11:5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.

Isa 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
Isa 11:7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
Isa 11:8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
Isa 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

Isa 11:10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Isa 11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand AGAIN THE SECOND TIME to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.
Isa 11:12 And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
FROM REVELATIONS:
Rev 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. (This does not sound like the normal Church of believers)
Rev 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. Rev 20:7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Rev 20:13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

I stated the previous because I still have serious qualms about: 1. whether John the Apostle wrote Revelations (the same Greek is not used as in his gospel and epistles). 2. There is no mention in the Pauline epistles or Peter about the way it happens in Revelation.
According to Paul, the judgement of the believing and unbelieving seem to happen all at once. Also, the bodies that we shall get at resurrection, are not male or female...and thus we do not "reproduce".
Mat 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.
Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.
Luk 20:35 But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage:
Luk 20:36 Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.

Joh 11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.
Joh 11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.
Joh 11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
Php 3:20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:
Php 3:21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.
1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless WE, according to his promise, look for NEW heavens and a NEW earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Anyway...I am looking for more scripture on this topic. I read Revelations (20 ESPECIALLY)...but it seems out to lunch with the rest of scripture. Dionysius wanted to remove it altogether...Calvin (I am not one), also had arguments with it.
I just want some more scriptural proof, especially on Rev. 20

well i will give you the just of what i believe the Lord has taught me about this so far.- I donot believe the millenium is what many think it is.

I believe the millenium (from earth's perspecive) is one literal year long. But from heaven where we will be with the Lord it is to us like 1000 years.

The DAY OF THE LORD - the time of Gods wrath on the wicked - IS the " millenial reign", where We will reign from the heavens over the wicked who are on the earth. those who are on throne ruling with a rod of iron will be those who are sending the vial judgements onto the wicked for that time of wrath.(as we are told we will judge the world). WE will have our rewards, our celestial bodies, our postions and we will have peace but the wicked on earth will get the recompense of their wickedness and their persecution of us who are zion.

During this DAY OF THE LORD< satan will be bound(he is a spiritual being so for him it is also like 1000 yrs although it is only one earth year), other demons are not bound only satan and he is loosed at the very end of the DAY OF THE LORD to lead the armies against Christ and Us at our coming on white horses back to earth where HE will finally destroy everything with fire so there can be a new heaven and earth. Let me give a couple verses as to why i say it is one earth year. then why i say the 1000 years is the DAY OF THE LORD.

Isa 34:8 For [it is] the day of the LORD'S vengeance, [and] the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
Isa 61:2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
Isa 63:4 For the day of vengeance [is] in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come.

all of these show a DAY to God a YEAR. Here is what we are told about this 1000 yrs and how to God it is a DAY- we are told in the same context WHAT DAY it is.

2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day [is] with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2Pe 3:10 ¶ But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

So we are told that one day with the Lord is as 1000 yrs then scipe a verse same context we are told that the day we are discussing is the DAY OF THE LORD. this fits with the ps that peter is quoting
Psa 90:4 For a thousand years in thy sight [are but] as yesterday when it is past, and [as] a watch in the night.
Psa 90:7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.
Psa 90:8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, our secret [sins] in the light of thy countenance.
Psa 90:9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale [that is told].

so the psalm s also about Gods wrath at the end.

ok so with that said every scripture that is about the DAY OF THE LORD is about the ' millenial reign".

So all the vials are about the millenial reign, the time that the saints who overcame and rule on thrones with the rod of iron is the millenial reign, and the time satan is bound is all the millenial reign which in the Spirit is LIKE 1000 yrs, but on earth is like one literal year.

This fulfills TWO numerical types. On earth there is a feast of tabernacles. It is an 8 day feast. it is symbolic of the 7 years of tribulation(7 days dwelling in the wilderness in tents) followed by the last great day the 8th day when it was a holy gathering, this is the 8th year. The year that follows the 7 yr trib period where for that 8th year we are having a holy convocation in the heavens with Christ in the air. So on earth this is 8 years, just like the last feast.

Also in creation God made everything on the creation week and rested, in 7 days, we are now in the 7,000 years from creation and from heaven the day of the lord will be like the 8,000 yr even though it wont be on earth.
1Cr 6:2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
1Cr 6:3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

so again with all this said, every scripture about the DAY OF THE LORD is about the millenial reign. What will be happening on earth according to what judgement of WRATH GOD sends upon the earth through us who He uses with Christ to judge the world.

I even think it is POSSIBLE(this is just an idea not confirmed for sure yet) that our enemies for that whole period MAY be able to see us in the heavens above them. I say that because the heavens are gonna roll up ( possibly making the spiritual realm visible) and satan does gather people agains tthe camp of the saints. So i believe they may beable to SEE US in the camp of the saints in heaven and gather them together against us who are in the air and fire comes down from heaven where we are to devour them.

Actually, I think if there is a millenium at all, it is just after the Day of The LORD. You throw too much symbolism in for me. I take things more literally. However, I am still not satisfied with the normal views on the Millenium either.

well pray on it, the Lord loves symbolism as well lol He made a whole creation of symbolisms. Actually it isnt even that much symbolism it is more about prophetic time periods the way they are used all throughout scriptures but either way if we all trust the Lord He will reveal the truth to us when we seek Him, after all He promised! amen so may you be blessed to learn from him and please share what He gives you!

There's a lot more linked with Rev.20 in other Scripture, just takes time to discover it.

Isa 24:20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.
23 Then the moon shall be confounded, and the sun ashamed, when the LORD of hosts shall reign in mount Zion, and in Jerusalem, and before His ancients gloriously.
(KJV)

There's passages in all the Books of Old Testament prophets that are yet to be fulfilled. Many see them as already fulfilled historically. That's a mistake.

Isa 30:30-33
30 And the LORD shall cause His glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of His arm, with the indignation of His anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; He hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
(KJV)

God is using Tophet as a symbol for the future "lake of fire" event (valley of Hinnom southeast of Jerusalem, Jer.7:31-32). And "the Assyrian" serves as a type for Satan (see also Ezekiel 31 about the Assyrian, and Isaiah 10).

Ezekiel 38 & 39 mention Gog and Magog, as does Rev.20:8. At the very end of Ezekiel 39, God defeats the armies of Gog and Magog, and ushers to the sanctuary time that Ezekiel was given by vision. That's the milennial sanctuary. It's dimensions show it has never ever been built on earth. The River of Rev.22:1 is covered there in Ezekiel 47, along with the Tree of Life, so I don't see how that could be missed. I don't believe literal animal sacrifices will be done like it says there in some of those last 9 Ezekiel chapters. I believe the sacrifices are symbolic, since Christ already became the Perfect Sacrifice for one and all time. I believe that's there to make the unlearned miss its link with the Milennial timing. I also believe there's a division somewhere in those last 9 chapters of Ezekiel that divides the Milennium timing from the new heavens and a new earth timing.

The 1 Corinthians 15:23-28 verses give a Milennial timing separation, saying that Christ must first reign until He has put all enemies under His feet. The last enemy to be destroyed being 'death' (meaning the idea of death, but Death is also a proper name for Satan in Rev.6). That points to a requirement for Christ causing all knees bowing to Him as LORD of lords and KING of kings, which is prior to death and the wicked being cast into the lake of fire.

These Zech.14 verses are given after Christ's coming with His saints to the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem, on earth...

Zech 14:8-11
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin's gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king's winepresses.
11 And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
(KJV)

Those "living waters" is about the River in Ezekiel 47 that comes out from the Milennial Sanctuary in Jerusalem. Though that River isn't mentioned in Rev.20, it is mentioned in Rev.22:1, and in Ezekiel 47. That seals this Zechariah 14 chapter to a time yet future to us even. The Milennial Sanctuary is 'shown' in Rev.21, the Holy City mentioned in Rev.22:14-15 with the wicked in a place of separation outside the gates of the City (just like how Rev.20 shows the wicked of the nations later going up against the "camp of the saints" and "beloved city" at the end of the Milennium).

Zech 14:16-20
16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Sure haven't seen that happen since Christ died on the cross. This points to the specific nations that will come up against Jerusalem in the last days of this world being destroyed. And like Rev.11:15 shows, all the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our LORD and of His Christ, meaning Jesus is going to literally reign over the remaining nations on earth. All remaining nations will be required to keep the feast of tabernacles and go up to Jerusalem to worship The Lord Who will be there, literally, but ruling with a "rod of iron" (Psalms 2:9).

17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD's house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
(KJV)

The idea of families is used for the nations in that time. The word "heathen" (goy) is put for Gentile peoples. With "the LORD's house" means the Milennial Sanctuary.

Isaiah 66:20 is pretty revealing about that time also concerning "the house of the LORD", as Ezekiel 40 forward covers the most detail about it.

John 14:2-3
2 In My Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
(KJV)

The word "mansions" means 'abodes' per the Greek, a residence. In the Ezekiel sanctuary layout, it includes the residences of the priests, abodes.

Here's what I believe the Milennial sacrifices of Ezekiel will be...

Heb 13:14-16
14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
15 By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.
16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
(KJV)

....There's passages in all the Books of Old Testament prophets that are yet to be fulfilled. Many see them as already fulfilled historically. That's a mistake.

I also agree with this statement. A close read of many OT scriptures detail events that in no way could of happend yet. Zephaniah is another book that one should read to get a sense of what will be going on during the millenial reign. While I agree with many of the OT scriptures pointed out above, I disagree that the sacrifices that are to take place during the millennium are figurative. Zechariah 14 details that sacrficing for the Festival of Shelters will take place...and these saciices include grain offerings as well as blood sacrifices. I know many say that sacrificing will not happen because Christ is the pefect sacrifice.....but scriptures clearly show otherwise during the millennium. So the quesion is not how to make scriptures fit our theory but how to get rid of our assumptions and harmonizing our own thoughts with what the scriptures actually say. There is an answer to why sacrficing is taking place but that is another topic in itself.

A good way to spot millennium scriptures is to use an online bible and do a keyword search for 'day of the Lord' or 'that day.' Many OT scriptures that detail life in the millennium often begin with the Israel's punishment for disobedience, followed by the punishment of the nations who attack Israel, followed by how YHWH will call many of these nations into repentance and how Israel will be forgiven and become model citizens of YHWH's kingdom,.

I have checked some of the others you mentioned in Zechariah etc. You're probably right about there being more scripture. I agree with you I don't believe there will blood sacrifice if there is a millenium at all.
Heb 10:10 By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. Heb 10:11 And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Why would God accept something that is imperfect, when the perfect has already been established. Going to have to disagree with you on that one, D4Christ.My problem with the Millenium business, is just...Why don't the Apostles write about it? Always in scripture, if something important has to be established, there are plenty of TEACHINGS on it.
Anyway, I know of the different views...and you're right there are more scriptures in the OT.
I just find the teachings of Christ, Paul and Peter seem to say a one time Resurrection of the Just and unJust. There's the qualm.

I just find the teachings of Christ, Paul and Peter seem to say a one time Resurrection of the Just and unJust. There's the qualm.

Possibly you haven't fully understood some of the things our Lord Jesus and His Apostles taught?

One of the things often misunderstood about the resurrection is the belief that the "unjust" will remain in flesh bodies throughout Christ's Milennium reign, when the Scripture doesn't show that, but just the opposite. For example, in John 5 our Lord Jesus showed at His coming there will be two TYPES of resurrection right then, one for the Just and one for the unjust. That's what the separation of His sheep from the goats is pointing to also.

One of the problems is like your saying, Paul didn't specifically speak of the "unjust" in 1 Cor.15, for he was comforting believers with the explanation of what the resurrection is, and with what type of body it will be. Thus many have come to interpret that only the "just" are resurrected at Christ's coming, while the unjust are not. The mention of a "first resurrection" at the start of Rev.20, and allusion to another one later in Rev.20:5 has also led to that idea.

So does Paul cover both resurrections in 1 Cor.15, the "unjust" also? Yes, indirectly, and it's specific in the Greek, not the KJV English. Note this verse:

1 Cor 15:53
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
(KJV)

Per the Greek, those four underlined words are four separate Greek words with four different meanings. The conjunction "and" is a separator also. The idea is that everybody will be changed from their body of corruption to a body of incorruption at Christ's coming, including the "unjust".

However, the "unjust" will still... be subject to the "second death", which is defined in Rev.20 as the casting into the lake of fire later. For the "unjust", death will not be swallowed up in victory, because "this mortal" must also "put on immortality", meaning their soul condition will still be in a 'liable to perish' kind of state. Those of the "first resurrection" will not be subject to that condition, for truly death will be swallowed up in Victory for them, through Christ Jesus. That's why only those of the "first resurrection" will rule with Christ, over all those others of the nations. But all... will be resurrected or changed to the body of incorruption.

Paul is actually pulling from the Isaiah 25 Scripture on this:

Isa 25:6-8
6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make unto all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined.
7 And He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations.
8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of His people shall He take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.
(KJV)

When Christ comes, ALL will be changed to a body of incorruption, the "spiritual body". But for some, the "unjust", their "this mortal" part will not have "put on immortality" to escape the "second death". When Paul mentions in Acts 24:15 that it's his hope there will be a resurrection of the unjust also, was his hope just so the "unjust" would see Christ's Glory before they go into the lake of fire, like a vengeance thing? No. It was a hope that at least some of them might be saved, the same kind of hope he had for his own deceived brethren of flesh Israel.

In the Isaiah 25:7 verse, the "face of the covering cast over all people, and the vail that is spread over all nations" is about the change from the body of corruption to a body of incorruption, the "image of the heavenly", the "spiritual body" Paul taught in 1 Cor.15. That's the minimum change for everybody, the unjust also.

Luke 12:4-5
4 And I say unto you My friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.
5 But I will forewarn you Whom ye shall fear: Fear Him, Which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him.
(KJV)

The word "hell" there is 'geena', pointing to the perpetual burning garbage pit outside Jerusalem, the valley of Hinnom. Our Lord is using it as a symbol for the "lake of fire" event, not the pit of hell which also will go into the "lake of fire". What did Rev.20 define the "second death" as? Destruction of being cast into the "lake of fire". So in essence, our Lord Jesus is saying don't fear those who can kill our flesh body, and after that there's no more they can do. But fear Him, our Heavenly Father Who after He has killed the flesh, can still destroy one's spiritual body and soul in the "lake of fire" at the end of Christ's Milennium reign.

Thus, even in those Luke 12 verses, our Lord Jesus is showing the distinction between the first death (of the flesh body), and the "second death" of being cast into the "lake of fire", per Rev.20. Apostles like Paul I don't think could say he didn't know about that "lake of fire", because they had the Books of OT prophets which points to that lake of fire event (recall Scripture about Tophet at the end of Isaiah 30?). Many of these deeper matters Paul was pulling from the OT Books. He was raised under the best Hebrew OT scholar of his day. The OT is also where the Pharisees got their belief in the resurrection from, so even they weren't totally blind to everything in God's Word.

Even in our Lord's parables in the NT, He was pointing much of the time to teachings first mentioned in the OT Books. Someone well studied in the OT Books would catch much of the deeper meanings intended in our Lord's NT parables. Those not studied in the OT will tend to apply different meanings in view of what's taught only in the NT Books. A lot of information will be missing with the second approach. This is why Peter also admonished us to be mindful of the OT Books of the prophets, not just what they and our Lord Jesus taught in the NT.

Much of the 'details' mentioned in passing within the NT was first given in the OT Books. So why would our Lord Jesus and His Apostles feel need to cover all those OT Scriptures again when that's all the early disciples had for study? There's so many pointers back to OT Scripture within NT teaching that it would take literally pages upon pages to just list the references.

I study the Old Testament Books as hard as I do the New Testament Books. For those who don't bother with the OT, I'm probably going to sound different than many out there which only pull from the New Testament Books. I'm going to bring up more of the details of matters our Lord Jesus and His Apostles taught in the New Testament, because the OT is where much of the details are given. Our Lord's Book of Revelation especially pulls more from the OT Books (including Genesis) than the NT Books, so it's going to sound foreign to much of the NT Books, when it should not be seen as foreign at all.
