Without giving away the ending for those who didn't see it, whad'ya think?

I thought the acting was phenominal, Hillary Swank deserves an Oscar....Morgan Freeman is still be best narrator around.

I thought it was good, but probably the most "unresolved" movie I've ever seen. It left me wanting many more answers I never got.

Maybe I have to wait for "Billion Dollar Baby" to get them. :D

I would categorise this movie as a WOLF in SHEEPS clothing.

From the start of the movie to about 90% of the way into it its a GREAT, GOOD feel movie. In fact I think this is what makes it so worrying. From a christian perspective at the end I saw an evil influence rear up its ugly head that was obviously driving this movie. All the great acting and "good feeling movie" that draws you in and makes you like the movie is then used to try to sway your beliefs regarding euthenasia (spelling - killing people when they seem too sick to ever recover). I immediately felt repulsed and angry to see the devil trying to use this movie to drive home his issue of killing people that seem to be in hopeless medical situations. I really hated the last 15 minute so much I couldn't wait to get out of the cinema. I realise also now why this movie was so successful in Oscars and Hollywood. Because it was a controversial movie that supported what all the Anti-Christian Hollywood people believe in. I really see this movie as having an evil force behind it that subtly and very skillfully has pushed its evil agenda at a time when the US is grappling with this issue in the news right now. Clearly Satan is behind this multi-pronged attack on the whole issue of euthinasia. Eg. the case in the US courts right now over the woman who is a semi vegetable and on a drip to feed her and the husband wants to kill her. All part of an attack on this issue. At least George Bush has the moral fibre to stand up to this issue and fight for whats right.

I was really dissappointed that this movie turned out to be a political and Anti-christian type movie.

I agree completely Scott. I really don't know what all the hoopla was about. This movie was mediocre at best.

Hotel Rwanda was a far better movie and deserved best Oscar.

Ever since 1998's horrible Shakespeare in Love beat the amazing Saving Private Ryan for BP, only 1 or 2 movies that one Best Picture have actually deserved it.

The people at the AAs are sleeping on the job IMO.

I have a plot hole problem with saving private ryan though...the narrating character in the movie is telling the story from the beginning after it has all happened, but the thing is HE IS DEAD IN THE END. Kinda big plot hole to jump in. :-D

I'm not following you. Saving Private Ryan begins at the cemetery where the old man (Damon's character) is paying respects to those who saved his life. Then the movie fades into Normandy which initially seems like its through the eyes of Hank's character but is actually a retelling of the event possibly from a personal account (possibly Hank's character). But again you'll notice that Damon's character fades back into the old man at the cemetery in the end of the movie. Since Damon's character was part of the Airborne, we know he didn't go through the Beach landings on D-Day. But the whole movie is from his perspective even though the early parts were likely his recollection of the others personal accounts. The movie in the end is shown to be his retelling of events that happened.
