Mind uploading

I once read a book called philosophy for dummies by a man named tom morris and it said mind uploading is were you transfer the energy of your mind into a robot or a supercomputer and live the rest of your days like that.So has anybody else read anything about mind uploading?Because if this is real i think the idea is really cool!But it could all be science fiction.:

I forgot to metion how i found the name mind uploading.I was looking up the work mind trasnfer and it lead me to it on a naruto board.Werid huh?

I think I would lean on that being science fiction as all one can do with a robot or a computer is feed it a data based program of commands of your own engineering/mind/thoughts/voice that could turn into an action displayed through the mechanics of a robot or a prompt computer.

The fictional concept actually comes from an Eastern meditation technique.
I'm not into that stuff, so I really know very little more than that.
I think it is akin to "clearing", so that your mental facilities get a rest for awhile.
