mindless

I was watching television the other day about the Pakistan earthquake. What struck me as mindless is how they (mostly Islamic) just underwent a major disaster which killed thousands in minutes and when they rescued a child shouted "God is great". Now if they believe God is in charge as we all know they do, then how could they possibly come to this conclusion. How could they turn around and proclaim, (which they have done) that our(US) natural disasters are God driven and punishment and their disasters are not? The same type of thinking or not thinking is common here in the US.

The bible clearly states that all men will die as a result of sin.

What should a person do when a child is rescued alive shout "God is evil"? :-?

Job was a man who understood the foolishness of this type of reasoning.

Job 2:9-10 Then said his wife unto him, Dost thou still retain thine integrity? curse God, and die. But he said unto her, Thou speakest as one of the foolish women speaketh. What? shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? In all this did not Job sin with his lips.

We should be praying to God in our evil nation and thanking Him for His longsuffering and mercy upon us and reminding our neighbors to pray for mercy and turn to God.

God is good.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I heard a poll that said that people that survived Katrina said they felt more religious afterwards on average.

I think what happens is that people want to understand why bad things happen. If bad things has intelligence (such as a god), then it can be reasoned with and possibly averted.

wait..

when people come otu of disasters in teh us, dont they usually say "thankl god were all ok?"

"praise god that he didnt take my children from me"

and dont we have the same nuts here saying god just caused the earthquake?

Its not right to blame natural disasters on a being, when we already have science to explain how it works.
