OK. One more random, quick posting and then I'm gonna chill out, I promise (I have to do dishes, anyway, lol).

I've come to the conclusion that Calvinists (I was raised Presby) and lots of mainliners who deny miracles (yes, I'm thinking of RC Sproul here) may well be wrong. I think...

...miracles abound! I'm a Baby Christian, but I think maybe miracles just get brushed aside. Freak of nature. Unexpected, spontaneous remission of (insert disease, disorder here). Surprisingly good response to treatment. Let's just forget about it.

What do y'all think?

Alot of people want God to prove Himself to them by performing a miracle.Would people believe in God if he did perform a miracle?I doubt it.I think God still does perform miracles but where is our faith if we want God to perform a miracle so we can believe?

Interesting. What does the Bible say is the reason the disciples put their faith in Jesus at the Cana wedding?

The wedding occurred over a month after Jesus earthly ministry began. He was going to demonstrate who He was.Maybe Jesus was showing that He wanted to do something supernatural in the everyday events of life and that would be a wedding.

I'm not sure what that was an answer to, but the answer to the question I asked, was..... Jesus' disciples put their faith in Him, (began to believe in Him), because they saw Him turn water into wine...
In other words, "perform a miracle". This seemed to be part of the reason for Jesus performing miracles... so that people would believe in Him.

CE,
I think it is great that God has caused such a fantastic change in you. Now.......... Get busy with your part... "Forgetting what lies behind", drop all the negative responses to people's remarks about the past, and just look forward. REMEMBER...... It is NOT others who drag you down, but YOUR BELIEF in what they say, rather than what God has done, and is, doing.

God paved the road for you.... BUT you can choose to make a U-turn at any time, disregarding all He has done, and wallowing in the past. The only pity party is the one you throw for yourself.

Apparently post # 4 did not answer you question?

Sorry about that.Maybe someone else can give you the answer you want.
Maybe more got read into my post than I typed. I think I simply asked what the Bible said.

Its not just about what God's done for me although, honestly, that's a big part of the reason I'm a Christian (we love Him because He first loved us...probably a poor paraphrase).

I was just thinking on it, and it seems like..Christianity is a miracle religion. Also, it started as something of a mystery cult (die to be born again, a common theme in higher forms of paganism).

And, you're right; I have to get to work and move ahead, which I'm doing, imperfectly, with Liberty University online (only way I'll get a job is with a degree, I think).
