Miracles

Faith is the activator wherein one will believe that it will happen...or not. Then it will, or will not happen.

But where does one find that kind of faith and be able to hang on to it once they do.

I won't go into details but have been praying for nearly a year now for something, something within reason that I would see as a miracle . The fact I pray for it everyday shows I have faith he can do it and I am sure of that but do I have enough faith that he will do it? Again, it's within reason and I have also gotten rid of my major sins, not sin completely but within what I think he thinks is reasonable.

I had been dwelling on the "faith that he will" part for some time now and somehow, just a few days ago, I think I had that faith twice for just a few seconds each time. Not sure where I found it or how I could have held on to it but it felt real good and I was positive I had finally gotten to that point. It was like, "what are you worried about, it's going to happen" and for those few moments, I believed it 100% ...my concern over it was completely gone. Wish I knew how to get that back so I can practice hanging on to it. Keep trying? well, that got me to that point so, that may be all there is too it and I will, but just wondered if anyone had suggestion in that area?

How do I have faith? A huge question. Can it be taught or is it only something that can be found within? Can it be taught how to find it within?

I think I can now relate to Peter when he lost his faith and began to sink in the water. At least at first, that type faith is hard to realize, then hard to hang on to. Could just be a matter of practice makes perfect.

Sometimes, when I find I must pray constantly for something important, serious, or wonderful, my mind then just isn't relaxing about the many blessings that God's already afforded me.
This is a common enough problem to where I don't feel like a silly over it all.
It's a human thing, I suppose, but the Enemy would love to be able to keep each one of us worrying over God's way of seeing us, our lives, and our prayers to Him, our heavenly Father.
So my solution has become that of learning how to let it all go once I've prayed about it already.
enough times to where I can find peace.
(Not the expert with this at all--I mean, I'm learning)
Sometimes, I will begin a prayer by asking God, in His Blessed Son's name to please change my thinking as well as my every prayer to where both are going to please Him better and better.
I then close that portion of the prayer (all of it in silence, of course) with the Lord and Savior's name.
After that, I await, in the quiet, any inspiration that is of the Most High God's Holy Spirit as to how to pray and what exactly might be better that I should be praying about.
It's taken years of trial and error and practice (loads of practice!) yet I find this suits me better than any other way I've tried in the past.
Getting rid of media that dos not please Him has made my life open up--like extra breathing space!
Aaahhhh.
I never knew it would be like that at all before.
I'm working on keeping my heart with God these days, and this means study, a little fast now and again, with prayer, and interacting with groups like this one.
For me, faith is becoming a natural outgrowth of keeping the faith inside and out with our Heavenly father, His son, and Holy Spirit.
That's all I know that works for me. Others may share other helpful ideas, and you can sort it out as you care to.
God's peace through Christ to you

No reason to be sorry. And I too, might be wrong.

Anyone else have input on that?

I did read your link. And Bill is right......most of what that link describes is the 1000 year reign.

Heaven? Not a whole lot of information on that, for specifics and details. Even Paul could not utter what he saw.

Heaven......we can't imagine what that is really like. The 1000 year reign and how that works, We can imagine and are told that it is going to be darn good and sounds wonderful. Heaven is prolly going to make that look like a booger.

Heaven prolly makes EVERYTHING pale by comparison brothers in Christ!
:agreed

Yeah, I think so too. I know very well to keep things in context but have believed that for so long, guess I never looked back to be certain.

Thanks, Bill.

Maybe he'll allow for a lake house, should be plenty of room for it. :) But I'm sure whatever he has in store will be great.

Yep, I think that is a main key I need to work on and I'm doing most of the other things you mention in one form or another.

I should have mentioned, the whole thing is drawing me much closer to him than I was and it's real easy to see how the situation could be the best thing for me.

gracenote,
Having been a minor artist that peaked in the winter of '89 and saved a couple of weeks later but I have recorded the Pentecostal Hymn, We Shall See The king and the site owner is hosting an mp3 copy of it in the Lounge for free download. I have been informed that if this number doesn't light you fire of worship that your wood is soaking wet.

If you haven't downloaded it, give it a shot and maybe own the song and do it in service at your church.

At the Cross I'd heard

I Know It Was the Blood
and others. but not this one before.
Thanks!

This one was written by John Vaughn, circa 1905 and since a young college student brought it to me and the bunch of nuts I love to play with and after we rearranged it and began to give it away, similar arrangements by other artists are appearing. I'm glad you like it because it really is my signature number.

If you want to see God work click this
and the video is also down-loadable. My acid reflux with this MS is wrecking my voice. The speaking before I sing has become my normal, just be quick on the volume. I asked for my voice to do the number one more time and He gave what I asked for.
