Mirrors from within
when I look in the mirror what do i see
i see my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ
who are tied together by one common bond,
because of that I see me
despite our differences we're all tied together
we share the same creed to stand against the wiles of the devil
despite differences we still share a common piece
because of God and his love we're all the in the same cap, his feather
the apple of his eye, his pride and joy
he converses with the angels, see my baby girl, my baby boy
we're all connected within this plane
this universe, this time, these trials
we're all together, children in unity
waiting for dad to come home, hear his laugh, sit on his big knee
when i look in the mirror i can see
while we are different, i see the similarity
when it hurts to laugh, when it hurts to cry,
when it hurts to be you, when you're glad to say im me
from midnight showers of silent tears
to the greatest obstacles, seemingly minute fears
the days of confusion, when foggy days struggle to come clear,
when you're alone in the midst of people, even those who are dear
to the broken hearted
those who are beaten, battered, even before the beginning of the day, and the fight has starts, you become a martyr, tragic soliloquy
the "fallen" ranks
who've been left behind
either by choice, or forced
the blood in you is also mine
when my brother or sister cries, part of me cries too
when they smile, i do
when they're angry, i pray
when they laugh im uplifted
but trials go beyond the simple commonalities, that's what life is
while that's true, we're bonded all the same,
we have the same differences, everything we really are
our essence created from one being
we are tied together by the blood that flows
through our veins, through our hearts
through our minds, our thoughts
we are all tied together, by the man on the throne
we may not be in the same place
or even in the same time
past centuries, new developments
but we all fall under the same family line
we go up the same mountain, only difference is our climb
all children of his, from living to dearly departed
we're all tied together by him, his big heart
even though flesh may be different,
the soul has a common mark
his, even though we are chased
by trials of this day, life, everything unlike him,
but victory lies right past the cracked door,
the door we unlock when we all love
when we love and recognize what we are,
one nation, one continent amongst others, all together
when we realize what we see
when we look in the mirror of God and i see me
