The Ft. Ogden Mission Trip from the eyes of JerZ!
Saturday: Left at about 8:30 A.M., and arrived to Ft Ogden at 7:06 P.M. Don’t ask why I know the exact time. After dinner, a group of us went on a very interesting trip to Walmart. On the way to the Walmart in Punta Gorda, we stopped by Pastor Greg’s house and found a roofing truck had been parked at his house. The Truck was supposed to have been locked up, but it wasn’t and so we had the Cops take care of the problem.
Sunday: Had Church and could see that Steven’s heart was stirin. I stayed at the church during the afternoon and prepared for a d-now. That Night we had a Youth Worship service that caused several to talk with God and get some things straight. Great God Moment #1
Monday: Work began, and My group did a ton of yard clean up. Spent the afternoon work session with Rick, who’s House was to be torn down the next day. That night we had a second worship service and we all had to agree that we had already began breaking into factions. God Dealt with us again, and prepared us for the next day. Great God Moment #2
Tuesday: Morning work session was stopped by rain, but Tinsley’s Team (Hitch, Double D, Tinsley, Candy-Cane, JenniePooh, Lawson, Jamie, and JerZ ) got to pray for and Give Bibles to Rick and a friend of his. Afternoon session we went to clean out more of the yard at the First site. We had a third worship service that night that started at 7:00 pm. Here is how God decided to unify our team. Chris Mitchell had given a message on Focus. Savannah Steve left after the message. Our theme for the week had been all, but someone got up and pointed out that we did have all 26 of us in the worship services that so far that week. We prayed from 7:30 til about 9:30 for Steve, and then just continued to Worship God as a majority of the group until 11:30pm. Some people stayed up as late as 1:30 the next morning praise the unity God had given the 25 of us. Great God Moment #3
Wednesday: It rained some more and work sessions where shortened by the rain. Savannah Steve had the whole day to think about God. When the worship service came around at 6:00, he came up and told us that he had decided to accept Christ as His Savior. Chris Mitchell, Tinsley, Mike Brown, and JerZ, sat down with him after the service and we talked and prayed with him for about another Hour. Then we went to Sonic as a group to celebrate God’s victory, and the complete unity we had. Rachel and JerZ gave some young men a pair of tracks and went on enjoying the night. Unfortunately, these young men decided to ruin the Group picture we took at Sonic. However, nothing could have stopped us from celebrating that night. Great God Moment #4
Thursday: We had our final two sessions of work and we in Tinsley’s team had become quite united. We had a BBQ at a church members ranch, and that nights fellowship rocked! Steve flame was shinning brightly. We had our final group worship service and we all decided that we wanted the unity to continue. We’ll see what happens, but I think we have a great start.
Friday: Waycross D-Now team left at 8:00 for Waycross and had a great time working with the people there.
Saturday: JerZ and the Waycross team came back to BPC at about 5:00
