The "rhema word" from God when activated by the power of the Holy Spirit supersedes all.

But it will not take precedence over scripture. If it is truly from God, it will not contradict scripture. We have never been given any authority to go around contradicting scripture, claiming it is God speaking through us.

I agree for the most part.

However, if a religious leader today is deceitfully using the word of God for unrighteous reasons and The Lord Jesus Christ speaks through a Prophet or a child or a donkey, then His Word will over rule the scripture that a religious leader is trying to use for his own purpose.

Well, yeah, I agree with this.

What I was referring to is where I've heard some Christians claim they have a "rhema" word from God told to them but what they say they were told goes against scripture. I've heard some of them say that it doesn't matter because what God supposedly just told them in their minds takes precedence over written scripture.

Really, too, most times I've heard someone misusing scripture, there has usually been a way to know or to point this out through proper scriptural knowledge and study. No new word from God was required. Just good old scripture knowledge and research.

Matthew 6:33 is the key. "The priority of the Kingdom" is imperative. Because if you miss what's first it doesn't matter what else you do. You've lost the foundation. "Seek Ye First" gives you light from God, so that you know which way to go, which way to turn, which way to move, which way to act, which way to think, which way to walk, which way to talk, which way to relate. You know what to do because the light is shining. You lose that perspective, no wonder you're running into things, tripping over things, falling over things, because that which is light is now dark and you can't see.

Your wife will speak "rhema" from God to help you. Psalm 128 NIV

No one knows the day or hour. Everything that has been prophesize for the rapture of the church to be done has been done. There is only one thing that must take place. And that is the wealth of Solomon. Those who have sown seed and haven't seen a return....must happen in the supernatural. Sorry. I can't accept that one bit. Not at all ! If a "word" does not align with the Scriptures, then it is just someone running their mouth, trying to sound Holy.

Excuse me, but is 1 John 4 on their website, or in the Bible?

Every statement of faith includes "Jesus is Lord".
It makes one think they believe the truth and teach the truth.
But their teachings go astray and lead people astray.
That was my point.
Therefore, 1 John 4 cannot be used in every situation without it being deciphered further.

Now, don't get me wrong. I fully believe that many "words" can often sound quite strange, and seem to run counter to what we may have always done in the church.

BUT..... that does not necessarily mean they do not line up with Scripture. Usually, it means WE have not been lining up with Scripture in what we have simply accepted as tradition for so many years.

Now, don't get me wrong. I fully believe that many "words" can often sound quite strange, and seem to run counter to what we may have always done in the church.

BUT..... that does not necessarily mean they do not line up with Scripture. Usually, it means WE have not been lining up with Scripture in what we have simply accepted as tradition for so many years.

I fully believe that many who claim to have a word from God, do not.

I also believe that we must have a foundation of scripture in us, before we prophesy.

This is the work of "being faithful with what is another's, so that God will give you what is your own".

The bible was modern day prophecy before it was scripture.
