Monsanto and the World

There's nothing they are leaving untouched: the mustard, the okra, the bringe oil, the rice, the cauliflower. Once they have established the norm: that seed can be owned as their property, royalties can be collected. We will depend on them for every seed we grow of every crop we grow. If they control seed, they control food, they know it -- it's strategic. It's more powerful than bombs. It's more powerful than guns. This is the best way to control the populations of the world. The story starts in the White House, where Monsanto often got its way by exerting disproportionate influence over policymakers via the "revolving door". One example is Michael Taylor, who worked for Monsanto as an attorney before being appointed as deputy commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991. While at the FDA, the authority that deals with all US food approvals, Taylor made crucial decisions that led to the approval of GE foods and crops. Then he returned to Monsanto, becoming the company's vice president for public policy. Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labeling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. Not coincidentally, Monsanto supplies 90 percent of the GE seeds used by the US market. Monsanto's long arm stretched so far that, in the early nineties, the US Food and Drugs Agency even ignored warnings of their own scientists, who were cautioning that GE crops could cause negative health effects. Other tactics the company uses to stifle concerns about their products include misleading advertising, bribery and concealing scientific evidence.

I am no fan of Monsanto people on my biological sciences course know of my rants and tirades against Monsanto. While GM technology offers us a way to provide more food for our growing population Monsanto abuse this technology.

The threat Monsanto pose is two fold The concept of intellectual property is abused these days and they are the number 1 proponents of it because judges are idiots and refuse to acknowledge how absurd copyright has become that and they simply can't understand science begin nearly illiterate these days they are allowed to get away with it. Monsanto turn the easy to abuse intellectual property laws into a bio-terrorists wet dream proving you can kill or maim whoever you want if your rich enough in America.

What they would do is GM plants then sell them on of course plants pollinate when the seeds are spread to nearby fields they would chase down the owners of there fields and try to force them to pay there tariffs then sue them for "Stealing" there seeds.
They did this for years.

If you read there wikipedia page it looks like someone has defaced it they haven't they really have done all of the dispicable things mentioned including experimenting on orphans, buying houses and using them as toxic waste dumps. Selling crops they KNEW were poisonous. Using technologies that ruin farms and entrap people. Bribing officials... They are one step away from the umbrella corporation in Resident evil and I don't doubt they intend to kill as many people as they do.

The nations of the world really need to unanimously agree to seize there assets and liquidate them for crimes against humanity.

This is why I grow open pollinated and heirloom varieties of plants. :yes This way I can save my viable seeds and use them the following year, as God intended it to be. I'll deal with diseases but I refuse to be at the mercy of some corporation. grrrrr.....

For some more insight on what's going on, search "Terminator technology". :o

Spreading the lies that organic and natural gardening and farming is not a viable option is doing the public a disservice. Those who don't know all the details will no doubt buy into the lies.

Plus, genetically modifying crops can do more harm than good. For instance, they have developed a way for corn to produce it's own insecticide. :shame Imagine the devastating effects this could have on the beneficial incests, the ones that help more pollen from one plant to another, like bees and butterflies, etc.

... and what are the health hazards on we humans who ingest these crops? :nono2

There have been heaps of bee colonies wiped out around the world already. It was in the news awhile back. As for butterflies they will find it hard to survive too.

Yup. CCD, Colony collapse disorder. I'm well aware of this. It's worldwide too. They are making progress though.
