anyone else experiencing bugs in the system?

Bug # 1.

I post a message and it does appear to have posted, but it actually does post but it won't show up unless I use my own new window and type in the address. Instead of the post showing as posted, I get a DEBUG MODE message that says reads a bunch of unable to identify ......


(a bunch of the words I typed)


and the line error is line 121


I have no idea what that means, but, It is a problem I am having.


Bug # 2.

When ever I come on board. I get an old Forum Index screen. It hasn't updated since Jan 09. I still get that old board showing up on my screen.

I have no idea why. And when I hit my refresh button nothing new happens. I still get that old board showing up.


seems as if new posts and not being updated .
I don't know. :sad



Anyone else having problems?

I thought it was just me , yes I see the same things , I just ask one of the mods in a PM earlier about it.

phpBB boards are known to choke under heavy load,

their MySql is a bit weak - (and might eat some posts if they are a bit too holy :)

there is a solution, that is not for free, but in case you (owner) cannot fix this one
might be worth considering.
 
It's apparant that you are having posting problems, Lewis. You've got two of the same thing up there.

About the bugs...Logan knows about them. Don't overload him with a bunch of private messages about the problems. I'm sure he's checking it out. As far as the debug messages go, as far as I can tell, just ignore them. Your posts are going through. You can double check if you want, but do that before you post again. If you get kicked off when you are posting, most likely your post didn't go through. You'll probably have to do it again.

Here's a easy way of doing redoing a post. Bring up your word processor or Microsoft Notepad or something similar. Before you hit submit, copy your post to the program - no need to save it, just copy it. Then, if your post doesn't go through, you have an easy way of retyping it and trying again. Lots better than trying to do it all from memory.

I hope this answers some questions.

Oh, yeah, one more thing. The little flags by the names on the forums on the home page still turn orange if there has been some new posts, and the dates on the thread names inside the forums also changes. (I'm pretty sure, anyway...)

ive been getting a bug today that said "words cannot be adde dto the search funciton" and then it listed all of the words that were in my psot (besides I, the, and, or ect..)
 
I am not having problems but then again, I am special! :-D
 
I am having trouble with the bug message.....

And not the organic kind.... :oops:
 
I wonder if this will work now.

I continued over the last 2 days to get an error that said "cannot add words to the search" or something.
 
But, :smt022 I'm far less special than both of you because some of my posts are not getting through at all.

While there may be a couple of folks on the forum who may not be too upset by that, :smt072 it IS getting somewhat annoying. I have no idea if this will even get through.

Just what IS a DEBUG MODE anyway? :smt102
 
People, I am still having problems, my name is still on the front page on General Talk, and Current Events, that I posted days ago. And no matter who does a post. My name will still remain there, on the front page in those 2 threads. And also I posted somethings in the tech thread, that I don't see anymore. Did somebody delete them ? And if so why ? Those post's were about computers so why would someone delete, them if they did. But if it is because of the bugs in this board, forget I asked.
 
I am still having big problems with this site. And who deleted my post's in the Tech thread ? And why ? If it caused by some kind of bug, forget that I asked.
Anyway when some one else makes a post my name still remains on the front page as the last poster, and it has been that way for about 4 days now. Even though many have posted in the General Talk thread, my name is still stuck on the front page as the last poster.
 
Posts are still "swallowed"

Complete threads are still gone.

How about a clean re-install and database restore from backup?
 
Hi, I highlighted the page that came up & sent it to 123. (several days back) If you got it, it was self explanitory! :wink:
