What a beautiful creature. When I look at the animal kingdom I wonder why we humans look at each other in varying degrees of beauty.

Great pic !

This is just something....

I was thinking what an awesome camera Barb must have. I thought I'd look up digital cameras with interchangeable lens. I picked the site that I did because it is a review site.
Down at the bottom right after the copyright it give a fellows name and then says "Powered by Christ."
This is the page it took me to. I thought is was just pretty cool.

It's actually a mid=grade "prosumer" camera, with a so-so lens. When I was poor, I bought used stuff, and learned to do the best I could with what I had. I'm not poor now, but I still can't bring myself to spend thousands of dollars for a really good telephoto lens.

This is what I use:

Give you a hint: Pentax doesn't spend a ton of money on advertising, relying more on word-of-mouth. The lenses are really good for the price, and you will get more performance for your money, if you get a Pentax DSLR.

If you can still find one, these are really good too, for most things:
th

Mirrorless, a truly great sensor, and a good relatively compact performer, other than having autofocus too slow for sports. It was a lousy seller, being stupendously ugly, briefly became really cheap until people started to realize what a gem it really was. I use mine for a lot of everyday and architectural work. If you can find one still discounted, you'll love it.

And if you just want a little walk-around camera, with a good sensor and smaller size, take a look at the Olympus mirrorless cameras. Good image quality, decent price, and really small. And interchangable lenses, including many independent brand models from Sigma, Tamron, and so on.

The top models get pretty pricey, but many of them are both high quality and quite affordable.

a dime a dozen of those egrets here. can count how many times i have scared those off while walking.

Egrets are generally less skittish than great blue herons. I have walked very close to them, which is possible if you move slowly and don't stare at them.
