Motherhood Through Rape

I'm not aware of any stories of 18 year old young men being raped by female teachers. It would be an ethics violation on the part of the teacher and she could get fired, but it wouldn't be statutory rape as both are adults.

In the stories that I've been reading, the average age of the victim has been 13-15... much too young to make consensual agreement regarding sex with a much older adult, especially if that adult is an authority figure.

In one case the teacher got a 16 year old boy high on pot, then had sex with him, so not only is it a case of statutory rape, the victim wasn't even sober to make the sex consensual.

This story isn't about rape, even the students said they do not consider themselves victims.

But, different states have different laws and most states have laws governing the behavior of teachers with students. Had the young men not been students of the teacher, no charges would have been pressed.

I'd like to know why the OP here didn't credit the CNN story this came from:

I'd also like to see statistics on just how often a rapist actually sues for parental rights. My suspicions are it's a pretty low percentage. That's not to disparage the facts of Ms. Prewitt's ordeal. I'm impressed with her decision to give birth to the child, and I am extremely sympathetic to the fact her attacker wants her to relive the event, which I am sure is the only reason he is taking this action.

The fact is, pregnancy from rape is rare, about 1/10th of one percent. Still, that amounts to somewhere around 225 to 340 such pregnancies a year. Remarkably, less than half the women so victimized choose to abort. Some, of course refuse to admit they were raped. Others who had illicit sex later claim they were raped because of consequences at home. I have utterly no respect for Rep. Todd Akin of Missouri whose idiotic remarks sparked this debate, and pray the Missouri GOP ousts him from the ticket and runs Sarah Steelman against liberal Claire McCaskill. While Akin's remarks were grotesque, unnecessary and stupid, he was still right. They are rare.

Are there any statistics on sexually transmitted diseases from rape:sad
