A business acquaintance said earlier this AM that she had automatic updates for MS Explorer. The auto update downloaded yesterday MS Explorer version 8 and is causing havoc on her personal computer and she spent over 6 hours last evening trying to get this resolved...Anybody else have this problem? I have not noted anything yet, but then I don't have 'auto' update either.

I was using Internet Explorer 8, and it was giving me problems all 3 times that I installed it, so I went back to 7. I only use IE for my mail anyway, I like Mozilla and the Apple browser for Windows, and that Apple browser is great, and is about the fastest browser out there.

LW appreciate your comments RE: IE 7 & 8. Also your mention of the Apple browser for Windows as another option for a 'browser'....thanks for the tip...R

It's from Microsoft, I wouldn't expect anything "less" from them, which is why I use Firefox. :yes

I've been a happy Firefox user for probably around a year now. Whenever it was that 3.0 came out is when I finally gave it a try. I'm giving 3.5 another month or so to bake and get the bugs worked out before I upgrade. As for IE8, I let it install on my sons computer and it seems slower and buggier than IE7. This after much fanfare was made about how it was supposed to be faster. :shrug

Thanks for the info..Ret

It was allowed to install on one of my XP Pro machines here at work. I had to uninstall back to V. 6. :yes

I personally use Firefox/3.0.12 because 3.5 isn't compatible with a couple of my add-ons yet.

I've had IE8 updated onto two of my computers and one at work and have had no issues, that I know of. I don't use enough; I use Firefox almost exclusively.
