My husband had an anger outburst in a restaurant at girlfriend of mine-help

No wonder the guy got into an argument with the girl friends husband.I'm sure the girlfriends husband did not like the influence of a homsexual couple on his wife. On the spiritual battlefield when those situations occur it is obvious that the big guns and all heavy artillery applied from both forces. I have a family member that came out of the closet several years ago and it has just about ripped the family into. Many anger outbursts I might say.

It's quite possible the OP is a troll who just wanted to test how we respond to his story. Since the first couple of responses didn't even notice that little detail he may just have lost interest.
But even if the story was true and the OP is in a gay marriage...

EWWW! i think i just puked a little in my mouth. I had no idea that was a dude.
... that kind of response would be over the top. Because it doesn't sound like you are actually trying to fight on a "spiritual battlefield", it just sounds like plain homophobic resentments.
It's not a way to respond in a christ-like manner, even to something that you think a sin.

Actually scripture talks about God using the same sort of language when He's talking about lukewarm Christians: "So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth." (Revelation 3:16, NKJV) so the comment may not be so ungodly afterall as long as the thing he is referring to is actually a sin.

He's talking about churches, not about individual people. And God is God. He may judge. We shouldn't, because we can't save anyone from their sins and from damnation. But God can save or destroy us, so He has the right to tell people what is wrong with their lifes. But as mere mortals are called to forgo judgement in favor of love. And "Ewww" is just not a loving comment about somebody's sin. In this particular case I'd suspect it's not been godly in any way, but just simple homophobia.

sorry just the thought of it made me feel that way call it what you want. I'll do my best to act as good christian should. I am sorry if I offended you, I was trying to be comical and I do suffer from homophobia, I dont feel like thats a bad thing and God will the judge of that. I still hope the op can straighten things out and live a good life though just not with his husband.:toofunny

I would not post anything on this forum that I cannot tell my children:bath

Are you sure about that? If that's the case, then that seems to mean that it's ok with God for individual people to just be lukewarm, just not for an organized church. And that has to also hold that the church isn't made up of the people because if it is made up of the people, the only way for the church to be lukewarm is for most of the people in it to be lukewarm. I guess I always thought it referred to people, even if it is referring to the people in particular churches.

Really? In all cases? How do you explain John 7:24? ("Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.") I always took this as a warning not to judge people on things we can't know about, but we should judge ("righteously" or correctly) on things we can know. That's why I mentioned it needing to be regarding something we know, or at least we are pretty sure, is a sin. (I'm not making a statement on whether or not homosexuality is a sin here, I've seen so many thoughts on both sides I'm still deciding how I believe on that one, although I'm learning strongly toward the idea that it is, even though I don't want to lean that way.) But back to my point, I always thought this verse meant it was ok to judge someone's actions when what they do is clearly called a sin by God in his word. (Not condemn them to hell, just take the stand that according to God's word, what they have done is a sin.) But I also believe this type of judging should also be done out of love, not out of a spirit of condemnation and hate. It should be done for the purpose of showing someone they are sinning when they may not realize they are sinning, giving them the opportunity to repent and ask forgiveness. At least that was my understanding. What's your take on this verse?

Please don't take this as arguing with you. I've read many of your other posts and respect many of your viewpoints and opinions. I'm truly curious what you think on this subject and your reasoning for your thoughts. I know this sidetracks the thread a bit, but since the OP seems to be long gone, I hope that's ok for a few minutes.

Why do people keep digging up old, out of date threads started by inactive members? This is the third or fourth one I've seen the last few days. Let 'em lay where they died, please! This one looks like it was a joke anyway, posted by a troll.

Well, at least for someone like me who hasn't been here very long, it gives us an opportunity to read stuff that we missed before we were here, whether good or bad. I suppose no one actually has to read these threads if they don't want to, do they? I thought this one was sort of entertaining in a strange sort of way when I realized the OP was male! :)
