My mind has been much occupied by the very question, "What is the Foundation of Faith" of late.
Those who know me know that I had major surgery on July 1st. During that time that James Scripture was heard in me. You know the one: Count it all JOY when you FALL (through no fault of your own) into various trials, knowing this....
So part of the foundation of FAITH (God-Trust) is (believe it or not) TRIAL.
That's not only a foundation it's also a growth stimulant. Next time the storm comes into your life, I suggest that you PRAISE HIM during the storm. Then, after having weathered the storm and having caught the attention of everybody and anybody who saw... after the storm subsides... Well KOPH (Keep On Praising Him).
Let our faith be more than echoes. Faith is greater than the songs we sing. In our weakness and temptations WE BELIEVE. That's God-Trust, guys. God-Trust. It comes from God alone so if you got so, THFI Thank Him For it.
TGoHWNP = The Gates of Hell Will Not Prevail
Our Great God is a MASTER Fisherman. A MASTER. If you are part of the net that will be used for the last harvest and you're looking around and you are prompted to stop sinning... you know... like a prick of conscious... right? It could be the Holy Spirit, reaching into you to get some of the junk (floatsum and jetsum) outta HIS NET. IBTTHS=I belong to the Holy Spirit. I am HIS possession. So if he is thinking ahead and wants to use you, and you feel HIM poking around in you and prompting you to remove stuff, to allow HIS lightest touch to remove it with your consent? It's okay. I'm betting that is indeed HIM and that He has every right to touch HIS NET.
And you know what? If he didn't get the junk out, well then after the whole net was tossed out - and you were just a part, the junky part--- well, what would happen? Where would the rip be? You. Me. We'd get hurt, you see. So before that Master tosses the net, what He does is clean it up a bit. He removes stuff. Harmful stuff.
Then the JOY of the catch is yours. Everybody who sees that beauty of the morning sun glistening off you as you sail over the sea (in the Bible, the SEA is often typical of peoples) even the photographers (Angels) -- they ohhh and they aawwwww.... That golden Moment. Yes the net is glorious, but only because it held still when its MASTER took some of the useless stuff out.
We are getting close to the time were we will be cast. NOW we learn to cling tightly to each other. Like the net. Why? Because we believe. That's the foundation of faith or maybe I should say that better. That is one of the foundations of our GOD-TRUST.
