My Testimony/Part 4 - My 4000th Post!

My Ministry,

This post is to testify about what the Lord is doing through me.

Throughout Middle School and High School, God began developing a passion to help others. Not just those I see face to face, but anyone in any fashion. God had given me a gift in the fact that I’ve always been able to listen to those who need to be heard. In High School, I had a few friends who I was would come to me regularly about those things that were bothering them. I knew that God brought these people to me for a purpose, and so I was more than happy to fellowship with them. I never knew what kind of training He was putting me through.

When I got to college in August, that gift began taking a new form. I found several people who would come seeking godly counsel. However, when I started college, I began to learn a tool I hadn’t used before, the computer. Things so common to many like E-mail, the internet and IM’s were all new to me. Now, they are all part of my regular life. As you can imagine, this allowed me to communicate with people more readily and more often. That’s how my ministry began.

Almost as soon as I became a computerized person, I began emailing friends from home, as you would expect. It’s one of the best ways to stay in touch. Vic let me know that our youth congregated at a certain message board, but eventually introduced me to cf.net. Now I think it’s pretty obvious how much I love posting. I would also learn to use IM’s regularly to talk with friends when other circumstances wouldn’t allow us to meet face to face.

Now my ministry of listening, has become a regular part of my life, and a clear part of my call to evangelize. I’ve been able to listen and help people from simple broken hearts to a nagging drug issue to suicidal inclinations. I’ve even began formulating a way to establish a much stronger base for this ministry.

I call this ministry 24/7 right now, because I want people to know that I’m willing to listen to them whenever I’m able to. I’m working on ideas for building a web page and have found a few friends to help me with guiding those who come to me. Our group and those we help are still small numbers, but I will continue to follow God’s hand as He makes this ministry what he wants it to be.

For those seeking someone to chat with, feel free to E-mail or IM me anytime. I’ll try to respond asap.
