My Thoughts About The Apocalypse, Continued

... continued from my first post, My Thoughts About The Apocalypse:

We are so wrapped up in the illusion that we've created for ourselves that even an educated individual like myself would rationalize such a horrible thought. However, it was a thought that was based on maintaining my position in life and coming up with a solution to eliminate another position in life... one that I deemed to have less value than my own. And right there... "Less Value Than My Own", therein lies the seed of hatred that is the sickness of the human condition. It's that "value" that People kill to obtain, people kill to maintain, and the people incapable of doing either die in the streets with no other option... and it's a way of the world that isn't going to get better anytime soon.

Now we have to look at actual diseases and sickness. It's been proven that in extremely dense populations, viruses and bacteria mutate and grow stronger, and eventually lead to widespread sickness and death. I'm not a scientist, and I'm not able to back that up with sources or anything like that... but from what I've read and heard over the years, that is my understanding. The same can be said with Animals. Is it a coincidence that many virulent strands of bacteria and viruses make the leap from animal to human (Mad Cow, Asian Bird Flu, etc...)? How do we treat our livestock? We huddle hundreds if not thousands of animals together into stock yards. These animals wallow in their own waste, clawing at each other and living in their own filth, all the while being prepped for slaughter. Is it a coincidence that sickness is bred of this disgusting environment? What is one thing that we see when we look at poor countries? Masses of families huddled together in tightly knit communities struggling to survive and maintain their way of life. Most don't have the luxury of running water, toilets, or any of the ammenities that we've come to depend on. What do we see when we look at rich countries? We see cities with masses of families and individuals, not necessarily "huddled together", but still packed into a small amount of space compared to the size of the area. Why do we have cities? To provide a closely knit community to support the economic demands of the people that it employs... people brought together to maintain their way of life.

Rich or poor, people pack themselves into small spaces to maintain the position in life they have based on their economic and financial status. The rich people think like rich people, and produce less offspring because they know that having children reduces their chances of becoming and maintaining the rich lifestyle. The poor don't have the means to even consider living the life of the rich man, so they resort to the more primal instincts of man, sexual intercourse. Now I'm sure it's obvious that all walks of life have the urge to have sex, that's not the point. The point is, the rich are more likely to pack together by lifestyle and career choice (and less about family and children), and the poor pack together out of sheer numbers through family and reproduction. The rich maintain their position in life, and justify it by saying "we need people like them in this world". And it's true, without the poor and middle class, there would be no upper class. It is my point with this paragraph to show you that we as a people are corrupted by our need to maintain the luxuries that we've come to depend on. And by saying "we", I mean anyone who has a computer and is able to read this document. Obviously, you have online access and a computer. Obviously you have a home, heat, running water, and a refrigerator full of food. Chances are either you, or someone in your family may have a few extra pounds based on a lifestyle and career choice that doesn't afford them the time to excercise. Or, they simply grew fat because of laziness due to the overabundant resources and luxuries that they are provided with. Whatever the case may be, "WE" are dedicated and focused on maintaining this way of life at all costs, and it is going to take a tremendous catalyst to alter our perspectives.

However, let me get back on track before I stray too far from where I was going with that last paragraph. Large Condensed Populations spreading and creating sickness. The rich have medicines and doctors to prevent and/or reduce the chances of widespread sickness. The poor do not. In either case, there are large condensed populations, but it is within the poorer of the two that we will start to see the more life-threatening sicknesses arise. Case in point, http://bit.ly/4mLWcD

Now I'm not necessarily saying that the Ukranian people are by any means the poorest or most poverty stricken people. I'm not even trying to say that they are responsible for the possible mutation of H1N1. However, is it a coincidence that we see this disease arise from a country not typically known to be rich? How long will it take to take over Europe? How long will it take to jump the ocean and hit the US? Not long at all I'm assuming. And the people that are most at risk in either type of country are the most condensed and tightly knit communities and cities.

Now, take a look back on all of the different forms of perversion and corruption that I mentioned earlier. Then take into consideration that it is that perversion and corruption that are cause for a catalyst to bring about change. Being that cities are the most tightly knit communities as opposed to suburbs or rural towns, who is more likely to be affected by a widespread sickness?

It really is going to take a tremendous catalyst to alter our perspectives on the way we view ourselves and our fellow man. Perhaps widespread disease is one cure and a catalyst to bring about this change. Eliminate all of the most condense areas on Earth, and what do you have? Farmers, rural towns, hunters and gatherers, and all of the most basic trades and lifestyles that do not require living in tightly knit communities to sustain their existence. We as a people deserve to be punished. We are long overdue for an awakening, and I fear that this may be the first of many to come in the next few years. Everyone's upset and worried over the popular theories surrounding 2012, and I think they are
justified in doing so. However, I don't believe it is going to be a cataclysmic destruction of earth like the movie "2012" made it out to be. I think it will be a much more subtle change that will forever reshape our understanding of our existence. And if I'm right, I hope those who are left to inherit the Earth learn from our mistakes and evolve into a society where income is not the driving force. I hope they realize that we are given the gift of life, and our purpose is to find love for ourselves and our fellow man. I hope they are able to rebuild and form a world of equality, where we work together for the common good. Sure, this may be a more communist way of thinking, but if you call me a communist, make sure you're not just trying to defend your luxurious way of life at all costs. Otherwise, you're really just part of the problem, thus illustrating my point that we deserve to be judged.

Tomorrow, will I convert and become a full devout Christian? Probably not. I'll go back to work, struggling to make a buck, and surviving in the world and economy that I've become accustomed to. It is that reason alone that I truly encourage God to carry out his decision to punish us. We CAN change, but we simply won't. We are a product of what has come before us, and we have an inability as a collective to acknowledge it, and do something about it. We need to be punished because without it, we will destroy ourselves, and the Earth, and the gift of life that God gave us will be completely lost. That is what I mean by "for our own good". It may not be good for you and I, but the lesson will live on, people will learn from it, and we will rebuild and start over.

God forgive us for the world that we've created. Hopefully we get it right the next time around.
